At the ceremony, delegates respectfully offered President Ho Chi Minh - the great leader of the Vietnamese people, the founder and trainer of the heroic Vietnam People's Army, fragrant incense sticks and fresh flowers, expressing their infinite gratitude for his immense contributions.
Before the spirit of General Vo Nguyen Giap - the first Commander-in-Chief, an excellent student of Uncle Ho, officers and soldiers of Military Region 5 expressed their deep gratitude and vowed to remember the teachings of General Vo Nguyen Giap, uphold the qualities of Uncle Ho's soldiers, follow in the footsteps of their fathers and brothers, worthy of the tradition of "Self-reliance, self-strengthening, overcoming difficulties, enduring hardships, being ingenious and creative, fighting steadfastly, winning gloriously".

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day, the Military Region 5 was honored to be awarded the Ho Chi Minh Medal by the Party and State for the third time, a noble award recognizing the great merits, achievements and sacrifices of generations of officers and soldiers. This is both a source of pride and a responsibility for each officer and soldier today to continue to train and contribute, worthy of the trust and love of the Party, State, Army and people.

At the Military Region Martyrs' Cemetery, the resting place of generals, heroes, and senior officers who devoted their lives to the Fatherland, delegates offered incense in memory, expressed deep gratitude, and made a firm promise: Always following in the footsteps of our ancestors, uniting, striving to overcome difficulties, and excellently completing all tasks in the new period.
The incense offering activity is an annual ritual, but on this important occasion, it also has a special meaning, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source", "When eating fruit, remember the person who planted the tree"; contributing to educating traditions, fostering patriotism and self-reliance for officers and soldiers of Military Region 5.
