Regarding the case of a male TikToker who accused of "being kicked out of a restaurant for being in a wheelchair" in Hanoi , on the afternoon of January 15, a chicken pho restaurant on Nam Ngu street (Hoan Kiem district, Hanoi) extracted the camera at the time of the incident.

Accordingly, at about 1:32 p.m. on January 11, Mr. VML and his girlfriend entered the restaurant. Because the path was too narrow (less than 1 meter), the restaurant owner and staff moved their belongings and pho baskets to another location.

Mr. L. sat right behind the owner. After settling down, the two of them ate as usual.

At around 2:00 p.m., when the couple finished eating, the restaurant staff continued to help push the man's wheelchair out.

That same morning, talking to Dan Tri reporter, the owner of the chicken pho restaurant confirmed that L. was a regular customer, often eating pho in the evening.

A few days ago, L. and his girlfriend came to the shop around noon. Because the entrance was small and it was raining, the shop owner said he invited the two of them to sit at the cafe across the street and then had the staff bring the pho over.

"But he still wanted to come into the restaurant, we welcomed him normally," said the restaurant representative.

L. and his girlfriend sat at the first table, behind the owner, next to the chicken weighing area. Another (older) owner reminded L. not to sit in this position next time, as it would make it difficult to sell.

"She was still smiling and eating normally, but after posting on social media implying that we were insulting her, that was not right," this person said.

The restaurant owner affirmed that he "never uses vulgar language to chase away customers, especially people with disabilities."

Previously, VML said he and his girlfriend went to a pho restaurant near his house, but were refused by the staff, saying "Our restaurant doesn't have staff to carry someone like you."

At the second pho restaurant, L. said this was a "familiar restaurant" and the two of them ate normally. The seating area was small, and his wheelchair was slightly squeezed in between the female owner's seat.

"She stood up abruptly and scolded the staff, "Who let this guy in here to eat?" The staff said, "He often eats here and normally sits like this." She got even more excited and said, "If I can't sell anything, then I'll stand."...", L. wrote.

He said "the meal was stuck in his throat, it was hard to swallow". While he got used to this feeling, his girlfriend "started to cry".

Regarding the incident, the leader of the Hanoi Department of Culture and Sports said that he had received information about the incident and was coordinating with relevant units to clarify it. The Hanoi Department of Information and Communications Inspectorate is also investigating.

VML, 30 years old, owns a TikTok channel with more than 249,000 followers. An accident at the age of 3 left him paralyzed in both legs and confined to a wheelchair.
