During 4 days (from August 1 to 4), the competition took place with the participation of nearly 1,000 artisans and actors from 24 provinces and cities across the country. Localities performed unique traditional cultural values through the performance of folk songs, folk dances and national costumes; traditional ritual performances; and culinary arts performances.
Evaluating the contest, Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy - Director of the Department of Grassroots Culture said: "The contest has met the requirements of scale, artistic quality and effectiveness in propagating, introducing and promoting tangible cultural values, customs, traditional festivals, folk songs and dances, costumes and cuisine of ethnic groups across the country. The contest has the participation of young faces, performing with older artisans. This is a good and encouraging thing because today's young generation has a passion, creativity and love for traditional cultural heritage. With passion, enthusiasm and dedication, older artisans have taught the younger generation to continue to preserve and promote the values of intangible cultural heritage left by their ancestors."
After this contest, to continue to propagate, introduce and promote intangible cultural heritages, customs, traditional festivals, folk songs, folk dances and cuisine of ethnic groups, Mr. Huy hopes that artisans, artists and actors of the units will continue to promote the role of cultural soldiers to preserve and spread unique and distinctive cultural values.
At the closing ceremony of the competition, the Quang Nam Province Artists and Actors Group performed a performance of the Twinning Ceremony of the Co Tu people.
As a result of the competition, Quang Nam province achieved high results with 1 gold medal (folk dance performance "Good harvest"); 3 silver medals (traditional ritual performance: The ceremony of brotherhood of the Co Tu people; performance of love songs; performance of dancing to the rhythm of the gongs and drums of Tan Tung Da Da) and 1 certificate of merit for the outstanding performance of the traditional tray in the culinary art performance competition.
