On October 7, the Principal of Ba Don Primary School No. 1, Ba Don Ward, Quang Tri Province sent a letter of apology to parents and students for providing poor quality lunch service on October 6.

Immediately after receiving information about the students' lunch on October 6, the school's board of directors verified and worked with the lunch service provider to evaluate and learn from mistakes, avoiding similar incidents from happening again.

“Our school community is committed to organizing daily monitoring more closely to improve the quality of lunch service to better serve students. In the coming time, to ensure transparency in each meal "For students, the school will take photos of their food portions and send them to each class group. Homeroom teachers are responsible for sending them to their class group so that parents can easily monitor and feel more secure," the apology letter said.

Previously, on the afternoon of October 6, on social networks in the northern province of Quang Tri, a photo of a 25,000 VND boarding meal for students of Ba Don Primary School No. 1 was circulated, including white rice, 3 pieces of ham, 1 boiled egg, a dish similar to sesame salt and a bowl of soup with few vegetables. The image spread angered public opinion when many people said that, compared to the value of 25,000 VND, the meal was too frugal, not nutritious enough for the price and lacked attention to children.

According to teacher Tran Thi Minh Thuy, the school currently has nearly 600 students eating at the boarding school, and the food is provided by a contracted business. However, due to the scarcity of food after storm No. 10 and the lack of pork, the school has not allowed students to eat. Therefore, the meal on October 6 did not meet the requirements.
