On June 26, District 3 Police (HCMC) said they were coordinating with relevant agencies to clarify the case of Mr. NTH installing a hidden camera to secretly film model Chau Bui (born 1997) in a dressing room at a studio in District 3.

Regarding secretly filming women in restrooms and changing rooms, this is an issue that makes many women worry about sensitive clips being exposed.

This behavior is strongly condemned and causes serious harm to the unfortunate victims.

The act of placing hidden cameras in public restrooms and changing rooms at stores for the purpose of illegally collecting personal information, especially filming and taking photos of others without permission, is a violation of the right to privacy of individuals protected by the Constitution and the law.

Specifically, Clause 1, Article 32 of the 2015 Civil Code stipulates: " Individuals have the right to their own image. The use of an individual's image must have that person's consent .

The use of another person's image for commercial purposes must be compensated to the person whose image is used, unless otherwise agreed by the parties"

Thus, according to the law, the use of personal images must not cause harm to the person whose image is used.

In addition, Clause 1 and Clause 2, Article 38 of the 2015 Civil Code stipulate as follows:

"1. Private life, personal secrets and family secrets are inviolable and protected by law.

2. The collection, storage, use and disclosure of information related to private life and personal secrets must be agreed by that person . The collection, storage, use and disclosure of information related to family secrets must be agreed by family members, unless otherwise provided by law .

Personal privacy and honor and dignity can be understood as sensitive and private characteristics and images of each individual's body, and are one of the inviolable rights of individuals as prescribed by the Constitution and law.

The act of secretly filming and taking pictures of other people's body features is a serious violation of social ethics and the law. When this act is reported or denounced, the person who secretly records another person will be subject to administrative sanctions or criminal prosecution. If damage is caused, civil compensation must be paid according to the provisions of the law.

Depending on the nature of the behavior, the subject may be prosecuted for the crime of humiliating others, the crime of disseminating obscene cultural products; the crime of illegally providing or using information on computer networks, telecommunications networks or electronic means... depending on the specific behavior and consequences.

If you use sensitive personal information and images of others to threaten and blackmail, you may also be prosecuted for the crime of extortion.

In addition, the Law protects the reputation, honor, and dignity of citizens. Victims can also request the violator to stop the violation, apologize, make public corrections, request compensation, or file a lawsuit with the Court in accordance with the law to request compensation in accordance with the law.

There are many individuals who use sophisticated tricks to seek likes, shares or spread bad images and content. We need to strongly boycott and condemn such actions and strictly handle the subjects according to the provisions of the law.
