On March 3, the Japan Social Contribution Support Fund, chaired by Ms. Abe Akie, wife of the late Japanese Prime Minister Abe Shinzo, and representatives of Da Nang Mikazuki Japanese resorts & spa, co-organized the Vietnam - Japan exchange event towards the future (first time).
The event aims to promote cultural exchange and support the local community and people.
The Japan Social Contribution Support Fund has donated dozens of wheelchairs to people with disabilities at three units: the Da Nang Social Protection Center, the Da Nang City Association of People with Disabilities, and the Lien Chieu District Association of People with Disabilities.
Mr. Yamada Takio - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam - commented that the wheelchairs given to the disabled in Da Nang are a symbol of the connection between the hearts of citizens of Japan and Vietnam.
"The factor that always supports the relationship between the two countries to become as good as it is today is the connection between people, the connection between hearts and mutual sharing regardless of the era," Mr. Yamada Takio said.

Ms. Abe Shinzo said that Vietnam has achieved very rapid development in the past few years.
"I hope that as the country develops, we can realize the importance of what needs to be preserved, such as customs and culture.
"I believe that a truly developed and happy country is one where every citizen desires peace not only for their own country, but also for the world," said Ms. Abe Shinzo.
During the program's activities, the Japan Social Contribution Support Fund delegation also visited children at the Agent Orange Victims Support Center in Da Nang City.
On March 1, a delegation of students from Kisarazu City High School (Japan) visited and gave gifts to children at the Center for Supporting Agent Orange Victims in Da Nang City.
