Taking place from now until September 29 at the Ho Chi Minh City Museum of Fine Arts, the Autumn Colors 2025 exhibition organized by the Nang Mai Artists Club and the Vietnam - Japan Friendship Association is attracting art lovers from both inside and outside the country to enjoy.

Viewers had the opportunity to enjoy 176 oil paintings, lacquer, silk, graphic works, sculptures and installation art... by 22 Vietnamese artists and 3 special guest artists from Japan, creating a colorful and inspiring artistic reunion.

Vietnamese homeland nuances and Japanese creative philosophy

22 Vietnamese authors bring to the exhibition an artistic space imbued with Vietnamese identity with familiar scenes of the homeland, country and people.

From fields and rivers in the countryside to small alleys in the city, or portraits of people in ordinary daily life... all evoke many emotions in the viewer.

Although each author has a different style, subject matter and material, they still find something in common: recreating the beauty of life and reflecting the artist's inner feelings from simple things.

Among them, lacquer and silk works stand out, two materials that dominate Vietnamese fine arts. Lacquer is warm and full of depth, silk paintings are soft and sensual. In the fields of sculpture and graphics, the authors choose to minimize shapes to portray the contemporary spirit.

Each work not only honors natural beauty but also evokes cultural stories, identity and national pride.

This is also the way artists express the connection between tradition and modernity, affirming the strong vitality of Vietnamese fine arts in the flow of international integration.

Three Japanese artists, Tomoi Takayuki, Sano Yoshihisa and Ono Chie, took a different approach. Instead of recreating landscapes, they listened to the "voices" of discarded materials such as cardboard, plastic bottles and used items.

Through the artists' creative perspective and hands, these materials "born to be thrown away" have their inherent beauty awakened, becoming works rich in philosophy about the environment and the life cycle of materials.

As artist Tomoi Takayuki says, art has the power to change perspectives. Artists hope that through their work, the public will reflect more on what is important for the future of humanity.

Connecting friendship between two countries through art

Not only is it an interesting art exhibition, Autumn Colors 2025 also demonstrates the special friendship between Vietnam and Japan.

In the same space, viewers encounter the fusion of Vietnamese village memories and Japanese material regeneration philosophy, between tradition and modernity, between visual art and contemporary social issues.

The return of a group of three Japanese artists who participated in an exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City two years ago also shows the strong connection between the two creative communities.

Their works contribute to broadening perspectives on contemporary Japanese art while emphasizing the role of creativity in environmental protection and community connection.

Through that, the public not only enjoys the visual beauty but also feels the humanistic message, belief in cultural cohesion and sustainable development.

According to author Phan My Tuyet, despite displaying many works, the Autumn Colors 2025 exhibition truly brings an artistic space that is both harmonious and colorful.

Each author has a different topic and writing style, but they all share the same feelings of cultural exchange and spirit of striving for truth, goodness, and beauty.

She chose to exhibit paintings that look back at her past 10 years, because the year 2025 has a special meaning of pivotal changes.

In the bustling city, there are days of carefree joy, days of anxiety about the epidemic, and also hope and the journey of personal maturity.

For her, standing with other artists in this group exhibition is a special opportunity in her life.
