According to MRB's report, to date, the overall progress of the Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro line has reached 77.76%. Of which, the elevated section has reached 99.65%, and the underground section has reached 37.25%. Quality and safety management has been improved, preventing unsafe incidents from occurring.

Regarding Hanoi urban railway line No. 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao section, the unit has advised the City People's Committee to report to the Government for approval of investment policy adjustment. On January 10, 2024, the City People's Committee submitted to the Prime Minister for approval of the project investment policy. Along with that, the Board is coordinating with localities to carry out site clearance work.
Several other projects are in the investment preparation stage, including: Line 1 (Yen Vien - Ngoc Hoi); Line 2A extension (Ha Dong - Xuan Mai); Line 3.2 (Hanoi Railway Station to Hoang Mai); Line 5 (Van Cao - Ngoc Khanh - Lang - Hoa Lac) and Line 6 (Noi Bai - Ngoc Hoi). The progress of investment preparation for these projects has many positive changes.
Mr. Nguyen Cao Minh, Head of the Hanoi Urban Railway Management Board, said that the unit will complete the trial operation of the elevated section of the Nhon - Hanoi Station line by the end of April 2024; and by the end of June 2024, complete the system safety certification, inspection and acceptance of the investor and state management agencies to hand over to Hanoi Railway One Member Co., Ltd. to put into commercial operation.
Along with that, the unit focuses on adjusting investment policies, site clearance, and resettlement for line 2, Nam Thang Long - Tran Hung Dao section; continuing to prepare for investment in other projects.
Regarding the Hanoi pilot urban railway line, the Nhon - Hanoi station section, Hanoi leaders proposed to speed up the training of operations and maintenance, trial operation, acceptance work, and move towards putting the 8.5km elevated section into operation in June 2024.
The Nhon - Hanoi Railway Station metro project is 12.5 km long, passing through 8 elevated stations and 4 underground stations. Of which, the elevated section (Nhon - Cau Giay) is 8.5 km long and the underground section (Cau Giay - Hanoi Railway Station) is 4 km long.
Total project investment is over VND 34,800 billion, an increase of over VND 1,900 billion; of which the City's budget counterpart capital increased by nearly VND 3,900 billion, and ODA loan capital decreased by nearly VND 2,000 billion.
The project started in 2009 and was expected to be completed in 2015, but the schedule has been adjusted many times.
