Resolutely carry out the task of socio-economic development in the new period

This morning, July 3, under the chairmanship of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong and Vice Chairmen of the Provincial People's Committee, the Provincial People's Committee held a regular meeting to assess the socio-economic situation of Quang Tri province in June and the first 6 months of 2025. Attending the meeting were Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council Nguyen Chien Thang, Permanent representative of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, leaders of departments, branches and units in the province. The conference was connected online from the Provincial People's Committee bridge to the bridge points of communes, wards and special zones in the province.

In June and the first 6 months of 2025, the socio-economic situation of Quang Tri province has achieved positive results: The economy is stable and growing well. Total product (at comparable prices) is estimated at about 28,560 billion VND, up 7.48% over the same period, ranking 23rd out of 34 provinces and cities nationwide.

Total social investment capital is estimated at nearly VND27,220 billion, up 12.4% over the same period. Budget revenue is estimated at more than VND6,800 billion, up 17.6% over the same period. The whole province has created jobs for more than 22,200 workers.

Rich and diverse cultural, sports and tourism activities are prepared and organized enthusiastically; the investment environment is gradually improved; social security is ensured; the cultural and spiritual life of the people continues to be enhanced; the political and social situation is stable; national defense and security are maintained.

At the meeting, delegates focused on discussing and clarifying difficulties and problems arising in the practical operation of the two-level local government model. At the same time, they proposed solutions to effectively implement key tasks in the remaining months of 2025.

Concluding the meeting, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong acknowledged and highly appreciated the spirit, responsibility, efforts and endeavors of leaders, cadres, civil servants, public employees, and workers of departments, branches, units, and localities in performing their tasks in the first days after the merger of the province. At the same time, he emphasized that from now until the end of the year, there is still a lot of work to do, with a large workload, so departments, branches, units, and localities must urgently stabilize their organizational apparatus.

Review, supplement, and complete working regulations, assign specific tasks to each position after arrangement, ensure the right person, right job, promote strengths and capacity; carry out good ideological work, stabilize the psychology of cadres, civil servants, and public employees. Quickly stabilize the working headquarters, public administration service center, information system, documents - archives and conditions to ensure effective operation of the apparatus.

Strengthen discipline and administrative order in performing tasks, resolutely handle signs of stagnation and shirking of responsibilities after the merger. Maintain the quality of work, absolutely do not allow interruptions that affect the rights of people and businesses.

Strengthen the application of information technology and digital transformation to improve the quality of public services. Urgently review the needs and ensure the facilities and infrastructure for the new apparatus and the activities of cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers.

Urgently direct the completion of renovation and repair of facilities used as accommodation (official housing) for officials and civil servants of Quang Tri province (old) working at the new Administrative Center.

Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Tran Phong also requested that departments, branches and localities proactively and urgently develop specific plans to accelerate the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in the remaining months of 2025.

Absolutely do not let the reorganization of the apparatus delay the progress of implementing the set targets and tasks. In particular, the implementation of the "Four Pillars" of the Politburo; develop a detailed plan to implement the Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; remove obstacles in site clearance for key projects of the province; disburse public investment capital; complete programs to eliminate temporary houses, dilapidated houses, and housing for people with meritorious services and relatives of martyrs.
