Duong Gia Quynh, a student majoring in international relations, is one of nine students from the University of Social Sciences and Humanities - VNU-HCM City selected to join the Southern female guerrillas to participate in the parade celebrating the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025) in Hanoi.

Sharing with reporters after a day of hard training, the young "female guerrilla" considered this a responsibility, an honor, and pride, because she was able to contribute a small part to the country's important event.

"On the day of the state-level preliminary review, wherever the group went, people cheered. The moment of "walking among the people" made me feel very proud, no longer feeling tired" - Quynh expressed.

Southern "beauties" receive special missions at A80

Female student Nguyen Ngoc Tuong Vy, majoring in multimedia communications at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, also expressed her emotion and honor at being selected to participate in mission A80.

"I am really proud because this is a national mission, only 188 representatives from the South are allowed to participate. Even though I am far from my family and have to put my studies on hold, I believe that this will be a mark of my youth that I will never forget" - Vy expressed.

Three months away from home is a big challenge, especially when facing the sweltering heat of the North. The young “guerrilla girls” smiled and said that the most effective source of “battery” is the phone calls and encouraging text messages from their families.

"Flex" the achievements of the "beauties"

Among the 188 people from Ho Chi Minh City who participated in the Southern female guerilla bloc, Thach Thi Kieu Mi, a former student of automobile engineering at Nguyen Tat Thanh University, was a very special "beauty". Mi had participated in missions at A70, A50 and A80.

Kieu Mi said she had experience with military command and environment, so she did not face much pressure and was more confident in this A80 mission. However, when moving to the National Training Center at Mieu Mon, the hot weather caused Kieu Mi and the female guerrillas from the South to face many health problems.

"After 2 weeks, I have gotten used to the weather and training intensity, ready for increasingly high-intensity exercises. Up to now, I am very confident and ready to take the most beautiful command steps on Ba Dinh Square during the grand ceremony" - Kieu Mi confidently shared.

"Beauty" Thach Thi Kieu Mi (born 2000) is one of the few "female guerrillas" participating in missions at the country's three major ceremonies.

As a stylist for famous artists, a social activist, and the owner of two coffee shops in Ho Chi Minh City, Dong An Thu (born 2000) has suddenly gone quiet for the past three months. Many people were surprised because her reason for "hiding" was very cute.

After graduating from Ton Duc Thang University, An Thu had many opportunities to study and work in an international environment, meeting famous people. The more cultures she was exposed to, the more proud she felt of the traditional values and patriotism of the Vietnamese people.

"As a Vietnamese citizen with strong national pride, I was attracted by the solemnity, discipline and beauty of the A50 teams. That inspired me to register to participate in A80 this time" - An Thu confided.

Working with famous people and being exposed to different cultures has given An Thu many sources of inspiration and ideas imbued with Vietnamese national identity.

For An Thu, the most memorable memory was the second practice session. All the blocks endured the long rain together, but no one was discouraged and left the formation.

"In that moment, I clearly felt the power of team spirit - the rain could wet my shoulders, but it could not extinguish the passion in my heart. That was a beautiful and precious memory for me" - An Thu expressed her pride.
