Brilliant Me Linh Flower Festival - the biggest flower festival in the North

(NLDO) - The 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival is large-scale, arranged and designed by artisans according to each theme, decorated with typical flowers.

At the central square of Me Linh district (Hanoi), on the evening of December 26, the opening ceremony of the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival took place with the theme "Me Linh is brilliant with flowers" and a fair to promote trade, tourism and local culture in Me Linh district in 2024. Ms. Bui Thi Minh Hoai, Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, attended.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Liem, Secretary of Me Linh District Party Committee, emphasized that in recent years, along with promoting industrial and urban development, Me Linh district has paid special attention to developing flower growing villages associated with trade and tourism . Following the success of the first Flower Festival (attracting more than 100,000 visitors), the second Me Linh Flower Festival has a scale of nearly 10,000 m2, arranged and designed by artisans according to each theme with 10 main modules, 8 miniatures, decorated with typical flowers of Me Linh; combined with lighting technology, creating a space that is both modern, poetic and colorful.

During the 4 days of the Festival, Me Linh district organized many exciting and meaningful activities, such as: "Flower bicycle decoration contest from recycled materials"; painting contest; gluing and assembling "giant" paintings from flowers; English Festival activities for students; "Me Linh is brilliant with flowers" ao dai performance, "Elegant students" contest; special art programs of sectors, organizations and vibrant performances of bands, street circus artists... At the same time as the Flower Festival, Me Linh District People's Committee coordinated with the Hanoi Center for Investment, Trade and Tourism Promotion to organize the fair "Promoting trade in connection with promoting tourism and local culture in Me Linh district" with more than 100 booths displaying and introducing typical specialty products, OCOP products of Hanoi and 30 provinces and cities across the country. This is an opportunity to promote the image of culture and history of Hanoi in general and Me Linh district in particular; is a trade bridge between production and business units with consumers; carries out the task of stimulating demand and promoting the campaign for Vietnamese people to prioritize using Vietnamese goods.

The opening ceremony of the 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival took place magnificently with the participation of famous singers and artists such as: Meritorious Artist Vu Thang Loi, singer Hoa Minzy, Duc Phuc, Dinh Manh Ninh, Le Anh Dung, Bui Le Man... Immediately after the opening ceremony was a special fireworks display. The 2nd Me Linh Flower Festival and the fair to promote trade, tourism and local culture in Me Linh district in 2024 will last until December 29, 2024. The Organizing Committee offers free admission and no entrance fee for people and tourists.
