Tourists coming to Mui Ne ward, can hardly miss the sunrise and sunset tour by jeep. Going along the road from Mui Ne to Bau Trang, tourists will easily encounter colorful vehicles, which have become symbols of this land, attracting thousands of tourists every year. Bau Trang road, known as one of the most beautiful coastal roads in Vietnam, is the main highlight of the jeep tour. With endless white sand dunes, winding dual roads between the sea and sand, this place brings a majestic but also poetic natural picture.
The jeeps are painted in a variety of vibrant colors such as red, yellow, blue, orange, pink or dreamy purple, easily attracting attention when passing through sand dunes, stopping by the beach or windmill fields. The variety of colors not only helps the vehicle stand out in nature but also carries local cultural significance. Tourists, especially young people, often choose vehicles according to their preferences or colors that match their outfits to have "million-like" photos. Nguyen Nhu Thanh ( Hanoi ), who visited Mui Ne last summer, shared: "Our group chose a jeep to watch the sunset instead of a regular car, both to be close to nature and to fully feel the cool sea breeze and warm sunshine of Mui Ne. Not only that, the driver is also very enthusiastic, and also acts as a photographer so that visitors can have beautiful photos."
According to travel companies operating Jeep tours in the Mui Ne area, Jeep tours usually cost between 500,000 - 650,000 VND/car (4 - 6 passengers), very suitable for groups of friends or families. In particular, sunrise and sunset tours are always loved by tourists because of the brilliant and enchanting natural scenery. Many people share that the feeling of sitting in a Jeep, letting the sea breeze blow through their hair and admiring the poetic beauty of Mui Ne is an unforgettable experience.
Currently, in Mui Ne, there are nearly 100 jeeps operating to serve tourists, but only a part of them are registered, inspected and have a legal business license. In recent years, due to the increasing demand for experiences, the number of jeeps and U-watts has increased, decorated eye-catchingly with a variety of colors, meeting the photography and check-in preferences of young people. However, the situation of many passenger vehicles that have not registered for business, do not have a badge or have changed to a yellow license plate not only violates transportation regulations but also poses risks to tourists and causes budget losses.
The massive appearance of many expired vehicles has made this type of activity chaotic, potentially posing a risk to the safety of tourists. In fact, many businesses and individuals in the province have repeatedly petitioned the authorities, wishing to operate legally under the cooperative model to be properly managed. However, according to Decree No. 158/2024, passenger transport cars under 8 seats after 12 years of manufacture will no longer be used for business, but will only be circulated as normal private vehicles and still have to be periodically inspected every 6 months. Due to the lack of a unified management mechanism, jeep tours in Mui Ne still mainly operate spontaneously, although they are highly appreciated by tourists.
It is known that some provinces have a Jeep Club, ready to be present in events and tourism activities organized by the province, making an impressive highlight. Therefore, to make jeep tours on this route become a unique tourism product, a safe and interesting experience for tourists, it is thought that the functional sector needs to have a specific roadmap and quickly manage this type of activity in a more organized and methodical way.
