Students visit and experience Bong Lai Farm
According to Mr. Ho Thanh Nhat - an officer of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in Hiep Thanh commune, the development of agricultural tourism in Hiep Thanh is no longer just a theory but has been clearly demonstrated. A typical example is Bong Lai Farm Tourist Area - which has been successful with the black grape growing model, and is also one of the pilot models that the province has recently supported to develop rural tourism.
Not only stopping at high-quality agricultural production, at the end of 2024, the black grape product of this farm was recognized as a 3-star OCOP certified product, affirming the quality and brand of agricultural products. At the same time, Bong Lai Farm was also recognized as an agricultural tourism destination and farmers became "tour guides" on their land, turning the vineyard into an interesting experience space for visitors.
The success of Bong Lai Farm clearly demonstrates the effectiveness of combining OCOP products with experiential tourism. Visitors coming here not only visit the landscape, learn about modern farming processes but also directly purchase certified agricultural products, creating a sustainable on-site consumption channel, increasing income for local people.
“In Lam Dong, many communes have been successful in exploiting available resources to build unique tourism programs such as garden tourism, eco-cultural tourism, or gong music experience tourism. Hiep Thanh is no exception to this trend. Through surveys, authorities and localities have determined that the commune has enough potential to develop diverse types of tourism, such as eco-tourism, agricultural tourism, community tourism, cultural tourism, and craft village tourism. However, to turn potential into reality, it requires the cooperation of the government, travel agencies and especially the participation of the community,” said Mr. Ho Thanh Nhat.
According to Mr. Ho Thanh Nhat, the policy of developing agricultural and rural tourism is not only to increase farmers' income but also to create economic, cultural and humanistic values. When rural tourism develops, each farmer will become a "tour guide" on his own land, turning rural landscapes, lifestyles and cultures into unique experiential products. More importantly, rural tourism creates an effective "channel" to promote and consume OCOP products on the spot.
Therefore, in the period of 2025 - 2030, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Hiep Thanh commune has built a program on Rural Tourism Development in the construction of new rural areas with specific goals. In particular, focusing on developing rural tourism linkages for 9 points according to the program of building "Typical Cultural Tourism Villages associated with the One Commune One Product OCOP program". On the other hand, striving for 50% of rural tourism points to be digitized and connected on the website to promote tourism using digital technology; training, fostering knowledge and skills in tourism services for at least 80% of employees and rural tourism business entities...
To achieve the set goals, the commune has been focusing on investing in developing tourist spots associated with new rural criteria, from orienting rural tourist areas and spots connecting with key tourist routes of the province, to completing infrastructure, ensuring harmony with the local cultural space. In particular, planning to form booths to display, introduce and sell high-quality agricultural products and OCOP products is the focus to enhance the value of the supply chain.
The implementation of these solutions needs to be carried out on the basis of maximizing the participation of people and communities, to ensure that rural tourism is truly an open form of tourism, managed, exploited and benefited by local communities, thereby creating sustainable tourism economic development.
