Saigonbank has a new Deputy General Director

Saigon Bank for Industry and Trade (Saigonbank - UPCoM: SGB) has just announced information about personnel changes to the position of Chief Accountant concurrently Head of Financial Accounting Department.

Accordingly, the bank decided to appoint Mr. Pham Tan Tai to the position of Chief Accountant and concurrently Head of Financial Accounting Department from September 1, 2024. Mr. Tai was born in 1983, his previous position was Deputy Head of Financial Accounting Department.

Mr. Tai will replace Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nam, who was dismissed by the bank's Board of Directors from the position of Chief Accountant and concurrently Head of the Financial Accounting Department, to be appointed as Deputy General Director from September 1, 2024.

The term of appointment is 1 year. According to Saigonbank's 6-month management report for 2024, Mr. Nam was born on December 24, 1968, with a bachelor's degree in economics . He was appointed Chief Accountant of Saigonbank from February 1, 2023.

According to information on the website, after appointing Mr. Nam to the position of Deputy General Director, SaigonBank's executive board has 5 members with General Director Mr. Tran Thanh Giang.

Ms. Vo Thi Nguyet Minh is the permanent Deputy General Director and the remaining 3 Deputy General Directors are Mr. Tran Quoc Thanh, Mr. Pham Hoang Hong Thinh and Mr. Nguyen Dinh Nam.

In February this year, Mr. Nguyen Tan Phat, Deputy General Director of Saigonbank, resigned from his position at his personal request.

Regarding business situation, at the end of the second quarter of 2024, Saigonbank recorded its main source of revenue as net interest income reaching nearly VND 225 billion, down 7% over the same period.

Thanks to the bank's credit risk provisioning cost reduction of 2.45 times compared to the same period to nearly 22 billion VND, the bank reported a 24% increase in pre-tax profit compared to the same period to 98 billion VND; post-tax profit increased 45.8% to nearly 70 billion VND.

Accumulated in the first 6 months of 2024, the bank recorded net interest income of VND 409 billion, down 11.85%. The bank earned net pre-tax profit of VND 166 billion; corresponding after-tax profit reached VND 133 billion, down 9.55% compared to the first 6 months of 2023.
