The first airport in Vietnam to complete 100% automation process

DNVN - On the morning of March 20, at Da Nang International Airport, Da Nang International Terminal Investment and Operation Joint Stock Company (AHT) officially handed over the automatic immigration control gate system (Autogate) to the Immigration Department - Ministry of Public Security.

Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thi Minh Loan - Head of Logistics Department, Immigration Department (QLXNC) said that from August 15, 2023 to now, at Da Nang International Airport, the Department has put into operation 4 automatic immigration control gates (Autogate) and 2 registration counters. During the operation, the Department has coordinated with the contractor to calibrate, fix and upgrade the system to better meet the inspection and control of immigration.

Officially handed over and opened the Autogate immigration system at Da Nang International Airport.

“Today, the official handover and acceptance of the Autogate system at Da Nang International Airport is an important milestone, continuing the strong transformation in the application of science and technology in state management, helping to increase the effectiveness of inspection, control and handling of immigration procedures for passengers,” emphasized Senior Lieutenant Colonel Pham Thi Minh Loan.

According to Mr. Do Trong Hau - Deputy General Director of AHT Company, Autogate technology is a solution to optimize the XNC process. This is one of the important steps in the airport modernization strategy, towards the smart airport terminal model, helping to optimize the aviation check-in process, reduce waiting time and improve passenger experience.

This system will help shorten the time for passengers to complete immigration procedures at Da Nang International Airport; reduce pressure on the control force with a fully automated process and improve safety and security with an advanced biometric identification system. At the same time, it will help optimize the flow of international passengers, ensuring accuracy and safety in the control process.

Director of Da Nang Department of Tourism Truong Thi Hong Hanh said that the city's tourism industry has long expected the Autogate XNC system at Da Nang International Airport to officially come into operation. This is one of the important standards for Skytrax 5-star international terminals. At the same time, it is also one of the criteria for Da Nang Airport's T2 international terminal to maintain its current 5-star rating and in the future.

Mr. Do Trong Hau said that in 2024, AHT has cooperated with FPT Software to deploy a smart monitoring and operating system, integrating real-time data. The outstanding technologies that have been deployed include the Self Check-in Kiosk system and Self Bag-drop counter to help passengers proactively operate and save time.

Auto Boarding Gate, minimizing staff intervention; AI camera system monitors passenger density, providing data to the operations department to effectively regulate passenger flow; video call kiosk system and multilingual search screen, helping passengers find information more easily.

“In particular, with the sponsorship of the Autogate system for the Department of Immigration Management on March 20, Da Nang International Airport became the first airport in Vietnam to complete 100% automation from check-in to baggage check-in, immigration procedures and boarding gates,” said Mr. Do Trong Hau.
