Averaging 13.6 points and 6.9 rebounds per game, Aaron Gordon has been a key member of the Denver Nuggets for many seasons now. In the Christmas series, Gordon shined to help the reigning NBA champions defeat the Golden State Warriors.
Shortly after this match, Denver's scorer was injured. The club said they were in no rush to get Aaron Gordon back, but would let the 28-year-old striker rest until he felt better, both physically and mentally.
"We're not going to put any pressure on him. The Denver Nuggets just need a completely healthy Aaron Gordon. Not everyone can get over these shocks quickly. We hope he can get back on his feet soon, " coach Michael Malone told reporters.
Meanwhile, Gordon's teammate Kentavious Caldwell-Pope said: "I send my condolences on behalf of the whole team. I know Aaron Gordon is really devastated after the incident. I will try to contact him to support him during this difficult time."
Gordon has previously shown off his Rottweiler to fans many times. This is a breed of dog originating from Germany, used to herd livestock. However, if not raised properly, they can become aggressive.
