Six administrative procedures on unemployment insurance on the National Public Service Portal

From now on, employees/employers can perform 6 administrative procedures on unemployment insurance online on the National Public Service Portal.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued Decision No. 990/QD-BNV on the announcement of 6 administrative procedures on unemployment insurance to be piloted on the National Public Service Portal within the state management scope of this agency.

Accordingly, 6 provincial-level administrative procedures on unemployment insurance include: Settling unemployment benefits; Notification of monthly job search; Temporary suspension of unemployment benefits; Continued unemployment benefits; Connecting procedures for changing unemployment benefit receiving locations (transfer from - transfer to); Termination of unemployment benefits.

The document of the Ministry of Home Affairs specifies the process diagram, order, and method of online implementation. Along with that, there are also components, number of records; processing time; subjects, agencies, results of administrative procedures, fees, application forms, declaration forms, requirements, and conditions for administrative procedures.

Unemployment insurance policy was first stipulated in the Law on Social Insurance 2006 and implemented from January 1, 2009.

Unemployment insurance regimes prescribed under the 2025 Law on Employment are: Unemployment benefits; Support for job counseling and referral; Support for vocational training; Support for training, fostering, and improving vocational skills to maintain employment for employees.

According to Vietnam Social Security, by the end of August 2025, there will be 14.103 million people participating in unemployment insurance nationwide, an increase of 84.4 thousand people compared to the same period in 2022.
