Faced with the storms and extreme weather of storms No. 9 and No. 10, which occurred consecutively, supermarket chains said they had orders for essential goods, especially vegetables and fruits, which were ordered early, so currently the goods are still fully available.

A representative of the WinMart/WinMart+ system said that they have planned to increase the supply of fresh foods such as vegetables and meat by 50%, and essential goods such as instant noodles, fish sauce, cooking oil, spices, etc. by 20%. In addition, the system also proactively transfers vegetables and fruits such as kale, cabbage, Chinese cabbage, tomatoes, carrots, etc. from suppliers and production areas in Lam Dong , ensuring that goods are always ready and sufficient to serve consumers.

Regarding prices, the system said it has carefully planned to ensure stable supply and maintain stable prices throughout the flood period.

“Although some stores in storm-affected areas are facing many difficulties and damage to facilities and goods, our top priority is to ensure the safety of workers, maintain stable business operations, ensure supply at stable prices to serve consumers, and contribute to ensuring social security,” said a representative of the WinMart/WinMart+ system.

Meanwhile, with MM Mega Market, this retail system said it has quickly deployed emergency response plans to maintain a stable supply of goods.

The centers in the directly affected areas such as MM Mega Market Vinh, Depot Thanh Hoa and Depot Dong Hoi ( Quang Binh ), as well as in the indirectly affected areas, have been fully prepared in terms of goods and human resources. Essential items such as dry food, drinking water, vegetables, fruits, meat and fish... are prioritized to ensure timely supply to the people.

At MM Mega Market Vinh, the supply of goods remains stable. Fresh goods such as vegetables, meat and fish are imported more than usual to meet people's needs. The shopping situation here also remains stable, with no shortages or local overloads recorded.

Previously, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Official Dispatch No. 7406, requesting the Department of Industry and Trade of localities to direct enterprises supplying goods in the area to effectively implement plans to reserve essential goods. At the same time, review areas at risk of being isolated due to rain and floods to have specific plans to ensure the supply of essential goods, especially food, foodstuffs, and drinking water for people in affected areas.

In addition, the Ministry of Industry and Trade requested the market management forces in localities to strengthen market inspection and control, promptly detect and strictly handle violations of the law in commercial activities.
