The Vietnamese team included 6 students from 4 leading universities in Vietnam, including Mai Thi Phuong, Nguyen Thi Thu Trang and Dinh Hoang Anh (Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology); Pham Quynh Trang (VinUni University); Cao Sy Duong ( Hanoi University of Science and Technology) and Tran Dang Nam (Ho Chi Minh City University of Transport).

The Vietnamese and Cambodian teams both won first place at the Tech4Good competition, surpassing 23 teams from 23 countries to advance to the Global Finals.

The SkyNet project is developed based on the application of drones, synthetic aperture radar (SAR) and AI technology to support faster and smarter search and rescue of victims in flooded areas. The project is developed with the criteria: High-resolution image acquisition, stable mobile data broadcasting and real-time data reporting. The cost of developing SkyNet is also optimally calculated to bring economic benefits and diverse application scenarios when commercialized to the market.

Mr. Macky Zhang, General Director of Huawei Vietnam shared: “We are very proud that after the “seed” Vietnam won the first place in the group, proved their individual capacity through the impressive SkyNet project and inspired other young talents to actively transform creative ideas into national practice. The exciting global final stage is waiting for you to show and shine even brighter”.
