Established on the basis of merging the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri province (old) and receiving functions, tasks, staffing and personnel from the Department of Foreign Affairs, Office of the People's Committee of Quang Binh province, the Department of Foreign Affairs of Quang Tri province has 4 functional departments and centers, including: Office, Department of Cooperation - International, Department of Border - Consulate and Center for Foreign Affairs.

Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Ngoc Lan delivered a speech assigning tasks to officers at the announcement ceremony.

At the announcement ceremony, Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs Tran Ngoc Lan presented decisions on personnel work; at the same time, requested cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers in the unit to continue promoting the spirit of solidarity and unity, striving to overcome all difficulties, and increasingly meeting foreign affairs and integration tasks in the new situation.
