(DN) - On September 9, Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Van Hung signed Decision No. 3241/QD-BVHTTDL on ranking the Soc Bom Bo historical site as a national relic.

Soc Bom Bo in Bom Bo commune, Dong Nai province is not only an attractive tourist destination but also a place to witness important historical marks of the Stieng ethnic people. During the resistance war against the US to save the country, Soc Bom Bo was known as a revolutionary base, a place that marked the heroic feats of soldiers and people, especially in the Phuoc Long - Dong Xoai Campaign in 1965. Stories of solidarity and bravery of the people here have been passed down through generations, becoming the pride of the community.

The place name Soc Bom Bo also became famous through poetry. This is where the Stieng ethnic people pounded rice day and night to feed the army, contributing significantly to the victory of the nation. The sound of rice pounding has been a source of inspiration for many musicians and poets.

Among the works about Soc Bom Bo, the song "The sound of pestles on Soc Bom Bo" written by musician Xuan Hong has moved many people. The song praises the patriotism of the people of Bom Bo, recalling a heroic and glorious time of the nation.
