Early synchronization of electronic medical records in Quang Nam Maternity and Pediatrics Hospital

DNO - On the afternoon of September 8, Quang Nam Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital held a conference to evaluate the use and storage of electronic medical records. Leaders of the Department of Health, the City Social Insurance and representatives of relevant departments and branches attended.

Director of Quang Nam Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital Nguyen Duc Hung Son said that the implementation of electronic medical records is identified as a key task to reform administrative procedures, save costs, and improve the quality of health care for the people.

In the past time, the hospital has equipped 93 fixed computers, connecting LAN from the central operating room to departments and rooms; deployed 3 high-speed Internet lines (2 500Mbps lines and 1 200Mbps line, both with static IP) to ensure stable operation.

The VNPT HIS software system operates on the copyrighted ORACLE database platform; data is stored at VNPT IDC with a centralized NAS system, meeting security requirements. In addition, more than 32 security cameras are installed at key locations to monitor the entire medical examination and treatment facility.

The hospital's HIS software has been linked to the city's health sector database and has been tested with the city's electronic health records system, allowing patients' medical examination and treatment data to be automatically transferred to the system. The electronic medical records software also meets information security requirements as prescribed.
