With over 3,300 hectares of mango, the output in 2025 is estimated to reach over 26,000 tons, with varieties of round mango, local stinky mango, Australian mango, Taiwanese mango, Yen Chau mango has become a symbol of the unique agricultural product of Son La land, with a characteristic flavor, beautiful shape, thin skin, sweet taste, highly appreciated by domestic and foreign markets.

Promoting Yen Chau Mango brand
Mango Festival is an annual activity organized by Yen Chau District People's Committee since 2017. This year, Yen Chau continues to choose Kha village, Sap Vat commune as the location for the main activities of the Festival.
This is a village with a lot of potential and advantages to develop community tourism , with dozens of hectares of ancient round mango trees hundreds of years old and located in a geographical indication area. Especially, the village still retains the traditional stilt houses and preserves the unique cultural features of the Thai ethnic group, such as the Dong Sua Festival; folk singing, performing traditional musical instruments; maintaining traditional crafts...
Taking place over 3 days from May 30 to June 1, the 2025 Mango Festival includes a series of rich and attractive activities. Highlights include mango picking competitions, xoè dance competitions, ethnic costume performances, dexterity competitions, folk games, mango garden tours, reenactment of the Dong Sua Festival; display of booths introducing agricultural products, handicrafts typical of communes and towns...

Speaking at the opening of the Festival, Mr. Lu Van Cuong, Chairman of Yen Chau District People's Committee emphasized: Mango Festival is an opportunity to promote and advertise Yen Chau Mango brand and honor mango growers; contribute to introducing the land and image of Yen Chau people to a large number of friends and tourists inside and outside the province, promote products, connect trade, promote investment, promote production - consumption linkage; create a premise to promote Yen Chau tourism to develop commensurate with the potential and advantages of the district.
Honoring Vietnam Heritage Trees
The highlight of this year's program is the announcement ceremony of the decision and awarding of certificates of recognition of 5 Vietnamese heritage trees of Yen Chau district, including: tamarind tree, mango tree in Kha village, Sap Vat commune; banyan tree in Luong village and a group of 9 tea trees in On Oc village, Muong Lum commune; dracontomelon tree in Na Nga village, Chieng Hac commune. This is not only a biological and environmental recognition, but also a profound testament to the cultural - historical - spiritual value of mango trees in the life of the ethnic communities of Yen Chau.

In the coming time, Yen Chau district will continue to promote the strength of mango growing areas, expand the area, boost production according to VietGAP and GlobalGAP standards; improve the quality of processing, packaging, branding and boost exports, aiming to build and develop the Yen Chau Mango brand to become a national OCOP product.
