Comrade Bui Thi Xuyen, Chairman of the People's Committee of Na Hang commune, said that the initial cause of the bridge pier landslide was determined to be due to prolonged heavy rain in recent days, combined with the discharge of floodwaters from Tuyen Quang hydropower plant, causing the soil in this area to become waterlogged, leading to the landslide.

Immediately after receiving the information, the People's Committee of the commune directed the police force and related units to urgently be present at the scene, put up warning ropes, and prevent people from passing through the dangerous areas at both ends of the bridge.

Comrade Bui Thi Xuyen added that from September 30 to October 3, in the commune, more than 300 households in 9 villages had their houses flooded, 1 house collapsed, many crop areas were affected, the commune is still continuing to count the damage.

The biggest impact is that the two embankments downstream of the hydroelectric plant have been affected by the water, creating dangerous gaps. Up to now, the water in the commune has completely receded, and people are urgently cleaning their houses and the environment according to the motto "where the water recedes, clean up immediately".
