Nguyen Thuy Hien broke two national records at the 2023 National Swimming Championship
Previously, Nguyen Thuy Hien said that her biggest idol is the former excellent swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien. The young athlete from Ninh Binh is trying hard every day to be like her senior. And now, the swimmer from the Army unit is also pursuing a further dream. "My goal in the near future is to participate in many international tournaments and try to achieve good results. One day, I also hope to participate in the Olympics," Thuy Hien confided.
Thuy Hien's direct coach, Coach Vo Thai Nguyen, commented on his student: "Despite a tight competition schedule, Thuy Hien has a very good sense of living and training, knows how to strive and improve. When competing, her determination is always very high. Hien is the first young athlete to break two records at the national tournament. Her expertise is highly appreciated by the coaching staff." However, according to Coach Thai Nguyen, Hien needs to improve her endurance and rotational techniques to be able to develop further in the future.
Thuy Hien is expected to follow in the footsteps of former excellent swimmer Nguyen Thi Anh Vien.
Nguyen Thuy Hien is good at short distances. However, the disadvantage of this athlete from Ninh Binh is that she has a small body. Regarding this, coach Thai Nguyen expressed: "I hope that the leaders of the sports industry can invest in Thuy Hien, so that she can have a better environment to develop. I also hope that she will be given the opportunity to train in developed countries in Europe and Asia.
In the short distance swimming events at the SEA Games, Singapore is a very strong country. Coach Thai Nguyen commented: “Thuy Hien is still very young, while the senior athletes in the Southeast Asian region, especially those from Singapore, are already old. Hopefully Thuy Hien will develop better and surpass the veteran athletes in the region.”
