Strategic attack, Russia airstrikes Kharkov city

On March 26, according to SF, Russia launched a new wave of attacks on facilities serving the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the rear on March 25. Unlike previous attacks, this attack targeted Ukrainian military facilities in the eastern region.

Ukrainian media claimed that all 12 Russian suicide drones were destroyed by Ukrainian air defenses, but the official figures contradict reports from local Ukrainian sources. Several explosions were heard in the city of Kharkiv on the night of March 25. The targets were believed to be local power facilities. The city has suffered a near-total blackout due to recent Russian attacks. Kharkiv is a major industrial city, so disrupting the power supply would hamper the remaining military facilities there.

Another target that was hit by the Russian military overnight was the temporary deployment point of the 3rd Separate Strike Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The precision missile strike destroyed one of the dormitories at the mechanical plant in Novgorodka, Donetsk People's Republic (self-proclaimed).

Meanwhile, in most directions on the front, the Russian army is pushing Ukrainian forces back.

After protracted fighting, Russian forces achieved a strategic victory and took control of the town of Krasnoe on March 23. The retreat threatened Ukraine’s entire defense line. In recent days, Russian forces have expanded their control of Bogdanovka and approached the outskirts of Ukraine’s main stronghold in the region, Chasov Yar, from the west.

After the positive results in Orlovka and Tonenkoe, the Russian army also launched an attack on Semenovka. According to preliminary reports, on the morning of March 26, the Russian army entered the village from the south. In the context of the ongoing Russian attacks on the northern outskirts, Ukraine is unlikely to maintain control of Semenovka for a long time.

Meanwhile, Russian forces have made significant advances in the village of Novomikhailovka, south of Donetsk. Ukrainian troops control only about a quarter of the settlement. Yesterday (March 26), Ukrainian forces were also pushed back from a military position at a large barracks in the northern suburbs.

In addition, after several weeks of fighting, the Russians also advanced into the Seversk area and improved their positions on a wide front near Veseloe.
