Wholeheartedly take care of "food security, strong army"

In early October 2025, at the National Shooting Range, Region 3, Gia Dinh Regiment (Ho Chi Minh City Command) organized a company-level tactical exercise in erratic weather conditions. After the afternoon rain, the ground was muddy and the wind was blowing, but the Regiment's picnic area was still neat and orderly. Hoang Cam stove was on fire, rice and soup were delicious, each hot meal was delivered to the unit on time, meeting standards and quantities. Behind that thoughtfulness was the dedication and devotion of Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Truong, Quartermaster Assistant, Logistics-Technical Department, Gia Dinh Regiment.

Quickly wiping the sweat and rain from his sunburned face, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Truong said: "The more difficult the situation, the more proactive we must be in ensuring a good life for the soldiers. This is also an opportunity to train, contribute and mature. This is also an experience to perform well in difficult and arduous situations."

Long-term exercises in mountainous terrain, with distant water sources, easily wet firewood, and easily collapsing ground... are not small challenges for logistics work. However, with a sense of responsibility and practical experience, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Truong and the Logistics Team always meet the requirements of "supplying food, strong soldiers".

Before each exercise, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Truong advised his superiors to carefully survey the terrain, choose a location that ensured high, discreet logistics, convenient living conditions, and met tactical requirements. When it rained heavily, he quickly covered the kitchen with tarps, reinforced the kitchen, checked and preserved food. Every detail was carefully calculated. Every day, he went down to the company kitchens to guide the improvement of meals and overcome limitations.

Not only worrying about food, the logistics force also pays special attention to the accommodation and health of the soldiers. When the military camp is flooded, the soldiers organize to improve the ground, lay tarps, spray mosquito repellent, and keep it clean. Every night, Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Truong and the medical team go down to each company to check the health of the soldiers, promptly handle medical situations, and ensure the number of soldiers is healthy throughout the exercise.

Graduating from the Logistics Academy in 2022, Nguyen Quang Truong quickly affirmed his ability in logistics and technical support work. During the drills and field trips, he always completed his tasks excellently and was awarded many times. Senior Lieutenant Nguyen Quang Truong is always loved by his teammates and trusted by his commanders, and is a shining example of responsibility and dedication to work.
