Strengthening Vietnam - Germany educational cooperation in the new period

On October 21, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Van Phuc received and worked with the delegation of parliamentarians from the state of Hessen, Germany, led by Mr. Timon Gremels - Minister of Science and Research, Arts and Culture of the state of Hessen.

Welcoming Minister Timon Gremmels to visit and work in Vietnam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc affirmed that the Vietnam - Hessen cooperation is a model of cooperation between Vietnam and German localities; the Vietnam - Germany strategic partnership has recently developed positively and extensively in all fields, including education and training.

The Deputy Minister said that last June, the Vietnamese delegation visited Hessen State and attended the University Council meeting to discuss solutions for building the Vietnam-Germany University in the new period. The Deputy Minister also thanked the Hessen State Symphony Orchestra for their successful performances in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Germany.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc affirmed that Vietnam - Hessen cooperation is a model of cooperation between Vietnam and German localities.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Phuc and Minister Timon Gremmels shared the view: In the good cooperation between Vietnam and Germany, the Vietnam-Germany University is a bright spot, an important project between the two countries. In the University Council meeting on November 5, 2025, the two sides will continue to discuss strategic policies for the university to continue to develop strongly.

Expressing his pleasure to visit and work at the headquarters of the Ministry of Education and Training, Minister Timon Gremmels affirmed that the state of Hessen is always ready to support and cooperate with Vietnam in promoting the construction and development of international financial centers in Vietnam, especially in the fields of training, consulting; promoting, introducing and calling for German investors.

Hessen hopes that the two sides will strengthen cooperation in the following areas: Applied scientific research under orders from the Vietnamese Government and the Hessen State Government, exchange and strengthen links in higher education; cooperate in developing an education system that combines theory with practice, dual vocational training (dual bildung, a prestigious field of the Hessen State).

The Ministry of Science and Research, Arts and Culture of Hessen and the state of Hessen affirmed to continue supporting the Vietnamese-German University in many forms through scientific cooperation, exchange programs, consulting, and knowledge transfer; so that the partnership between Hessen and Vietnam in the fields of science, research and innovation can be further strengthened.

In response to Vietnam's need to build and develop an international financial center, Germany in general and Hessen state in particular have provided very practical cooperation and support to Vietnam. Vietnam-Germany University has trained 2 courses on international finance and plans to continue training the next courses. Students are trained with good quality because they are taught directly by lecturers who are leading financial experts from Germany and Hessen state.
