The Department of Fisheries and Fisheries Surveillance and localities reported on the results of the fight against IUU fishing in recent times and discussed key solutions and tasks to remove the EC's "yellow card" warning by August 30. The focus was on key and urgent tasks and solutions such as: Preventing and handling fishing vessels and fishermen who violate illegal fishing in foreign waters; law enforcement issues, handling violations of regulations on disconnecting VMS, exceeding permitted fishing boundaries at sea, and violating illegal fishing in foreign waters...

Ba Ria-Vung Tau has 4,877 fishing vessels, of which nearly 50% are offshore fishing vessels. The Provincial People's Committee has a plan and localities are implementing a peak period to resolve existing problems in the fight against IUU fishing according to the EC's "yellow card" warning recommendations, handling 1,305 fishing vessels that are not qualified to operate, strictly punishing IUU violations and updating information and identifying 711 fishing vessels that do not have citizen identification information on the National Population Database and electronic authentication platform...
