Focus on solutions for sustainable forestry development by 2025

On the morning of January 15, comrade Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired a meeting with relevant departments, branches, units and localities to agree on implementing a number of key tasks for 2025 to implement Resolution 19-NQ/TU dated November 28, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on sustainable forestry development to 2025, with a vision to 2030.

Comrade Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee chaired the meeting to agree on implementing a number of key tasks on sustainable forestry development.

According to the draft plan to implement a number of key tasks in 2025 to implement Resolution 19 on sustainable forestry development developed by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of the province, a number of specific goals and targets have been set, such as: Synchronously implementing solutions to effectively manage and protect forests, prevent and fight forest fires, improve the quality of all types of forests, ensure the forest cover rate of the whole province is over 42%; focus on forest restoration after storm No. 3, strive for the whole province to complete planting all of the approximately 98,000 hectares of broken forest area; strive for the whole province to have over 30,000 hectares of forest certified for sustainable forest management by the end of 2025; complete the arrangement, innovation and development, improve the operational efficiency of agricultural and forestry companies according to Conclusion No. 103-KL/TW dated December 2, 2024 of the Politburo .

After listening to the plan content and comments from relevant departments, branches, units and localities, Mr. Nghiem Xuan Cuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, emphasized a number of tasks and solutions for 2025 to implement Resolution 19-NQ/TU dated November 28, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on sustainable forestry development. Focusing on 3 groups of key tasks and solutions, including: Forest development, restructuring and improving forest quality towards sustainability; Improve the effectiveness of state management in forest development, forest use, forest protection and management, and forestry development and summarize 5 years of implementing Resolution 19-NQ/TU dated November 28, 2021 of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on sustainable forestry development to 2025, with a vision to 2030. For key task groups, specific goals and targets must be set out in accordance with the actual conditions of units and localities.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also noted a number of specific tasks for sustainable forestry development in 2025, such as: Harmoniously balancing the planting of large timber forests with the planting of production forests according to the motto "taking short-term to support long-term", promoting the economy under the forest canopy associated with eco-tourism; supplying forestry plant varieties with guaranteed origin and quality; promoting the application of science and technology in afforestation and forestry development; absolutely not being subjective, negligent, or having a surrender mentality in forest protection management and forest fire prevention and fighting; urgently and resolutely completing the arrangement, innovation and development, improving the operational efficiency of agricultural and forestry companies and specialized agencies, advisory agencies on forestry activities; doing a good job of land inspection, supervision, and inventory; The summary of Resolution 19 ensures substance and objectivity, clarifies the existing problems, difficulties, obstacles and causes in order to propose and propose viewpoints, guidelines, mechanisms, policies, tasks and feasible solutions suitable to the trends and practices of the province, units and localities in the new period.

Representatives of leaders of functional departments and branches spoke and contributed opinions at the meeting.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee noted that in the immediate future, units and localities need to be determined and resolute in synchronously and quickly complete the implementation of procedures for liquidating damaged planted forests due to storm No. 3 and reforestation; actively mobilize organizations, individuals and households to respond and register to participate in Resolution No. 37/2024/NQ-HDND dated July 10, 2024 of the Provincial People's Council on a number of specific policies to encourage sustainable forestry development in the province to create clear changes in reality; do a good job of planning and organizing the implementation of the Spring Tree Planting Festival of At Ty at the provincial, district and unit levels with the focus on afforestation and planting large timber trees for sustainable forest development.

Departments, branches, units and localities, based on their functions and tasks, should make specific plans and well implement forestry development tasks, considering this one of the most important tasks of 2025 and the following period.
