Hai Phong implements 5 afforestation projects

According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, Hai Phong city is implementing five afforestation projects, including on both the mainland and islands.

Thien Van Hill Forest (Kien An Ward) is being replanted in some areas.

These are the Coastal Forest Restoration and Development Projects in Cat Ba archipelago, Hai Phong city in the period of 2016 - 2020; Forestry Modernization Project and Coastal Resilience Enhancement; Forest Planting Project to replace forest area converted to other uses in 2018; Forest planting project to replace mountainous forest area when carrying out site clearance to implement the Kien An District Martyrs Memorial Construction Project on Thien Van Mountain; Mangrove planting project to return the recovered forest area to implement the Investment Project to upgrade and expand the Cat Hai - Cat Ba cross-island road (Cai Vieng - Moc Trang section).

The implementation of afforestation projects contributes to improving productivity and forest quality. Of which, about 400 hectares of production forest are replanted after exploitation; 520,000 scattered trees including timber trees and shade trees; 1,107.56 hectares of forest regeneration promotion; 494.53 hectares of planted forest are cared for. Production forest is 92.61 ha, exploited wood volume is 8,864 m ³ ; wood output exploited from scattered trees is estimated at 832.4 m ³ .
