This afternoon, January 10, the coordinating agencies of Quang Tri province, including the People's Procuracy, People's Court, Provincial Police, Civil Judgment Enforcement Department, Customs Department, Border Guard Command, Nghia An Prison - Ministry of Public Security , held a meeting for the fourth quarter of 2023, deploying coordination tasks for the first quarter of 2024. In the fourth quarter of 2023, the political security and social order and safety situation in the province continued to be maintained, especially no security crimes or crimes against judicial activities occurred. However, in the whole province, 84 cases of social order violations occurred, killing 3 people, injuring 19 people, and causing property damage of more than 2.6 billion VND. The authorities investigated and solved 78 cases/114 subjects, reaching a rate of 92.86%; prosecuted 59 cases/119 defendants (an increase of 43 defendants compared to the third quarter).

Coordination in investigation, prosecution, trial, and resolution of criminal cases always complies with the law, without wrongful convictions or omissions. Management of detention, custody, execution of criminal sentences, and execution of civil sentences have been carried out in accordance with the law.

The key task in the first quarter of 2024 is that the coordinating agencies continue to seriously implement the resolutions and directives of the Party, the National Assembly and the directives and regulations of the superior sectors and the Provincial Party Committee on the contents of their respective sectors' fields of work to strive to complete and exceed the assigned targets. Speaking at the conference, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Internal Affairs Committee Ly Kieu Van highly appreciated the results achieved in the coordination work between agencies, especially the results of investigation, prosecution, trial, and fight against drug and economic cases. At the same time, he requested that the coordinating agencies in the coming time need to make more efforts to ensure political security and social order and safety in the area.

Strengthen the fight against all types of crime, especially drug, economic, and high-tech crimes. Pay more attention to citizen reception, receiving and handling crime reports and denunciations, recommending prosecution and resolving cases.

Focus on quickly and effectively resolving key and important cases that are monitored and directed by the Provincial Party Standing Committee and are of public interest. Continue to improve the quality of investigation, prosecution, and trial, contributing to minimizing the number of criminals who escape justice and wrongful convictions.
