Identifying the identities of two missing sailors in storm No. 10 in Cua Viet sea area

QTO - On the morning of September 30, information from the Quang Tri Provincial Border Guard Command said that, taking advantage of favorable weather, the coastal border stations in the south of Quang Tri are currently making efforts to deploy forces and means to search for two sailors who were in distress on the morning of September 28 in the Cua Viet sea area.

Specifically, the identities of the two missing crew members were identified as Quach Hai Lam (born 1984), from Thanh Hoa province, and Pham Van Hien (born 1989), from the former Nam Dinh province.

Previously, on September 28, two fishing boats with registration numbers BV-4670TS and BV-0042TS took shelter from storm No. 10 in the Cua Viet area and encountered strong winds and waves, causing one fishing boat to sink with 3 crew members on board; one fishing boat ran aground with 8 crew members on board.

Upon receiving the information, immediately after that, Trieu Van Border Guard Station, Cua Viet Port Border Guard Station, Squadron 2 of Quang Tri Border Guard, Cua Viet Commune Police and Nam Cua Viet Commune deployed for rescue.

By 9:00 a.m. the same day, the forces had approached and rescued 8 crew members on the distressed fishing boat BV-4670TS and brought them safely to shore. By 12:15 p.m. the same day, 1 crew member of the fishing boat BV-0042TS was clinging to a buoy on the embankment south of Cua Viet and swam to shore and was successfully rescued by the rescue forces. The remaining 2 crew members clung to a buoy when the boat sank, but were later swept away by the waves and went missing.
