Improve the effectiveness of communication work
Determining that sending workers to work abroad is one of the effective solutions to solve employment, increase income, stabilize life and sustainably reduce poverty, sectors and levels in the province have proactively developed and implemented many solutions to promote this work. Thanks to that, the number of workers in the province working abroad has continuously increased year by year. Specifically, in 2024, the province sent 628 workers to work abroad, reaching nearly 125% of the annual plan, an increase of over 29% over the same period. From the beginning of 2025 to now, the number of workers going to work abroad is 392, of which 69 are seasonal workers, reaching over 78% of the assigned target and an increase of 7.69% over the same period in 2024.
Although a coastal district with many difficulties, for many years, Dong Hai has always been in the leading group, becoming a bright spot of the province in the work of sending workers to work abroad THD. Mr. Ta Minh Tuan - Deputy Head of the Department of Home Affairs of Dong Hai district, said: To achieve the above results, from the beginning of the year, the district has promptly reviewed and completed the Steering Committee of the Program on Employment, Poverty Reduction and Sending Workers to Work Abroad THD. At the same time, coordinating with functional agencies to organize a Job Fair, focusing on discussions, consulting, introducing jobs, starting a business for workers; exchanging, sharing experiences, and achievements from families with children working abroad THD, contributing to the good implementation of mobilization, propaganda, and attracting the attention of the people. Since then, the rate of workers going to work abroad in the district has always been higher year after year, exceeding the set target.
The 2025 Provincial Job Fair is co-organized by the Provincial Employment Service Center.
As an important "bridge", the Provincial Employment Service Center has also focused on coordinating with the People's Committees of districts, towns and cities to promote propaganda and mobilize people of working age, ensuring they meet the conditions to work abroad. The Center coordinates with companies and units sending workers to work abroad, advising workers to clearly understand information about labor markets, especially potential markets such as Japan, Korea... Every year, the Provincial Employment Service Center coordinates to organize periodic job fairs at the Center and in the districts, especially successfully organizing provincial-level job fairs. The fairs attract thousands of attendees, through which workers have the opportunity to directly exchange with businesses, and receive support from the Center to introduce many job opportunities abroad.
Sustainable poverty reduction solutions
According to statistics from the relevant authorities, the average income after deducting living expenses of workers in the middle-income market is 20-30 million VND/month and from 30 million VND/month or more in high-income markets such as Japan and Korea. Clearly, this is a source of income that not only helps many households in difficult circumstances to sustainably reduce poverty but also opens up opportunities to help relatives develop the economy and improve their lives.
A typical example is the case of Mr. Tran Van Chi (Vinh Thanh commune, Phuoc Long district). Previously, Mr. Chi's family was in a difficult situation. After receiving advice and support from the local authorities, his two older children decided to go to Japan to work long-term. Seeing the effectiveness of working abroad, Mr. Chi's stepdaughter, who had just graduated from high school, also registered to work in Japan. Currently, each month, Mr. Chi's three children send home more than 50 million VND. Not only did he build a spacious house, but his family also had capital for livestock farming. Or the case of Mr. Nguyen Van Mieng (Long Dien commune, Dong Hai district) who also went to Japan to work. After 2 years, Mr. Mieng sent home nearly 300 million VND to his family to build a more solid house, invest in developing a combined extensive shrimp farming model, and his family's economy gradually improved.

In 2005, Bac Lieu strives to send 1,000 workers to work abroad. The Provincial Steering Committee for Sending Workers to Work Abroad has proposed 7 specific measures, assigning responsibilities to localities and each relevant department, branch and organization. In particular, mass organizations and media agencies in the area promote propaganda and mobilization activities, regularly reflect the situation and effectiveness of local workers working abroad, and encourage workers to participate more. Functional agencies such as the Police, Health, and Banks continue to create the best conditions for workers to carry out exit procedures, health check-ups and loans. The functional sector disseminates the policies and guidelines of the Central and local governments on overseas labor, and at the same time, prepares procedures for the Department of Planning to supplement loan capital in a timely manner, provides funding to partially support the initial costs for those preparing to work abroad, as well as closely and effectively organizes orientation education and foreign language learning for workers.
