At noon on June 19 ( Hanoi time, or the night of June 18 in the US), the Starship 36 spacecraft of SpaceX, founded by technology billionaire Elon Musk, exploded during a routine test in Texas, USA.

According to local authorities, the Starship spacecraft suffered a serious accident and exploded at the Starbase launch facility. No casualties were reported in the incident.

SpaceX said the ship was preparing for its 10th test flight and encountered a serious incident at the Starbase facility.

According to SpaceX, there is currently no danger to residents in nearby communities and the company asks people to stay away from the area while safe disposal operations are underway.

Starbase is the main base of billionaire Musk's space project, located on the South Texas coast, near the border with Mexico.

At 123 meters tall, Starship is currently the world's largest and most powerful rocket and is central to the American billionaire's long-term vision of conquering Mars.

This incident follows the explosion of another Starship prototype in the Indian Ocean in late May. At that time, the rocket took off from Starbase, but the first stage, the Super Heavy, exploded instead of landing in the Gulf of Mexico as planned.

Two previous launches also ended unsuccessfully, when the upper stage of Starship broke apart in the Caribbean Sea./.
