Right from the beginning of the year, many farmers in Dak Lak have been preparing for the next coffee season by busy watering, ensuring the coffee flowers bloom evenly and fruit well despite the cold weather.

Mr. Pham Hung Vuong - a farmer in Phu Xuan commune, Krong Nang, Dak Lak - said that this year the weather was not as favorable as many years because of the prolonged cold weather, so farmers did not dare to water until after Tet.

"Luckily, although it's a bit cold, it hasn't rained so the flowers are blooming evenly. I hope for another year of good harvest and good prices," he hopes.

Dr. Phan Viet Ha, deputy director of the Western Highlands Agricultural and Forestry Science Institute (WASI), confirmed that after flowering and fruit set, the physiological fruit drop rate is usually 40 - 50%, the more fruit there is, the higher the drop rate.

In addition, coffee flowers are not only beautiful, have a gentle fragrance, but also a new and unique drink. In 2020, a business in Buon Ma Thuot City, Dak Lak Province successfully produced coffee flower tea.
