Lao Cai police make efforts to help flood-affected students return to school soon

On the morning of October 3, after several days off due to the impact of storm No. 10, thanks to the cooperation of the Party Committee, government, education sector and especially the timely support of the police force, thousands of students in Yen Bai ward, Lao Cai province officially returned to school.

Storm No. 10 caused heavy damage to educational infrastructure, including 11 flooded schools in Yen Bai ward, many schools were submerged in water more than 1 meter deep, desks, chairs, and teaching equipment were severely damaged.

As soon as the water receded, Lao Cai Provincial Police and Yen Bai Ward Police mobilized hundreds of officers and soldiers along with specialized vehicles and machines to urgently pump out water, clear mud, clean classrooms, and collect garbage. Thanks to that, many schools were quickly restored to welcome students back to school.

Ly Thuong Kiet High School is one of the places heavily affected by the flood. Mr. Ma Dinh Khai, the school's principal, said: With the timely support of hundreds of police officers and soldiers, after only two days, the entire classroom and school grounds were cleared, and this morning (October 3), students were able to return to class as usual.

At Nguyen Thai Hoc Primary School, the recovery work was also accelerated with the active participation of the police force. Teacher Bui Thi Anh Nguyet shared: The police force effectively supported in pumping water and clearing mud, helping the school to soon regain a clean learning environment.

Currently, some kindergartens in Yen Bai ward such as Sao Mai Kindergarten are still unable to receive children due to severe damage. Yen Bai ward police are coordinating with functional units, mobilizing maximum human resources and means to overcome the situation. Captain Luong Viet Tien - Yen Bai ward police, said: We are making efforts to help students return to school soon, ensuring a safe and stable learning environment.

Although there are still many difficulties after the storm, with the timely and drastic intervention of the police force, along with the cooperation of the school, parents and local authorities, school life in the flooded area is gradually returning to normal, helping teachers and students feel secure to continue teaching and learning.
