According to statistics, Vietnam currently has about 17,317 lawyers and nearly 5,000 judges, but the demand for economic legal experts always exceeds supply, especially in the fields of mergers, international investment and commercial disputes.
Faced with this reality, Ho Chi Minh City University of Economics and Finance (UEF) is expanding enrollment for the Master of Economic Law program in 2025 with the goal of training experts who are both knowledgeable in theory and flexible in handling practical situations.

The demand for high-quality human resources is constantly increasing.
Entering the market, economic law is no longer simply a management tool but also a “compass” that guides the operation of the enterprise. From strategic planning, signing commercial contracts, handling international disputes to complying with regulations on investment, competition and intellectual property, all activities require a strict legal framework.
In fact, many Vietnamese enterprises when participating in cross-border transactions are forced to seek the services of international law firms due to the lack of domestic human resources with sufficient expertise and experience. This not only increases costs but also creates a large gap in the domestic legal personnel system. This is a clear opportunity for the rise of Vietnamese economic law experts.

In multinational enterprises, financial institutions, government agencies and law firms, key positions such as legal director, economic law advisor, international commercial arbitrator or compliance specialist all require in-depth knowledge, analytical and critical thinking skills and skills to handle complex legal situations.
Therefore, the demand for highly qualified human resources in the field of economic law is constantly increasing in quantity and requires improvement in quality. Students with a master's degree in Economic Law are considered "golden candidates" to take on important roles, contributing to improving the competitiveness and integration of Vietnamese enterprises in the global market.
UEF Master's Program - Application Highlights
Unlike many theoretical programs that are heavily academic, the Master of Economic Law program at UEF is designed in a practical direction, ensuring that students can both grasp knowledge and master application skills in the corporate legal environment.
Students are involved in realistic simulations, from drafting cross-border contracts, resolving commercial disputes, international arbitration to assessing investment risks and handling violations of competition law. These are all “hot” issues that Vietnamese businesses are facing, helping students after graduation to become reliable legal consultants.

The two-year regular study time is allocated reasonably and flexibly, with evening and weekend schedules to suit working students. The curriculum is regularly updated with new laws, specialized decrees, international case law and outstanding commercial lawsuits. The program's teaching staff is a combination of prestigious academics and legal experts with extensive practical experience. The teachers not only convey theory but also bring real-life situations from businesses, state management agencies and international organizations. That creates a learning environment rich in critical thinking and interaction.
With a training strategy that combines practice, investment in lecturers and a flexible learning environment, the UEF Master of Economic Law program is the preferred choice for candidates who aspire to become pioneering economic law experts, seizing opportunities, enhancing their careers and asserting their mettle in the era of integration.
