Over the years, young people in the Vietnam Oil and Gas industry have always been proactive and constantly creative in implementing tasks, making significant contributions to the development of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group ( Petrovietnam ).

Strengthening the Party's leadership over youth work

Over the years, the Party Committee of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Party Committee of the Group) has paid attention to directing and encouraging ideology, especially always creating opportunities for young people to participate in implementing the Oil and Gas Industry Development Strategy in each period.

Over 15 years of implementing Resolution No. 25-NQ/TW on strengthening the Party's leadership over youth work in the period of accelerating industrialization and modernization, the Party Committee of the Group has led and consolidated the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Group (Group Youth Union) according to the Party's organizational system and improved the quality of Youth Union activities, proactively performing professional tasks of enterprises and units. From there, it is affirmed that the Party's leadership of youth work and building a strong Youth Union is an important content in Party building work, which is building the Party one step ahead.

During the implementation process, the Party Committee of the Group has set out guidelines, policies, and orientations for youth activities, determined standards for youth to strive for, and spread typical examples for youth to learn and follow. Party committees and authorities at all levels in the Group regularly create favorable conditions in terms of facilities and funding for the Group's Youth Union to operate. Directed innovation in content and methods of operation, focusing on the grassroots, participating in key state projects and works on Oil and Gas in which the Group is the investor and projects of the Group. In addition, the team of young scientific and technical staff, the core of which are Youth Union members of the Oil and Gas industry, participating in projects and factories has undertaken many tasks that previously had to be hired by foreign experts.

Mr. Tran Quang Dung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of the Vietnam Oil and Gas Group, highly appreciated the organization of the Youth Union of the Group. In particular, the grassroots Youth Union organizations under the Group Youth Union are organized in accordance with the system of Party Committees and Party Cells under the Party Committee of the Group. The continuous arrangement process has taken place over the past 15 years in line with the restructuring process of the units under the Group.

"The Party Committee of the Group determines that the results of the Youth Union's work and youth movement are a criterion for evaluating and classifying the quality of grassroots Party organizations and the results of emulation evaluations of units every year. The leaders of the Group and the leaders of the affiliated units always periodically organize dialogues with the youth on issues related to the youth, the Youth Union's work and youth movements in each unit of the Group," Mr. Tran Quang Dung emphasized.

Creative labor shock

In line with the Group's production and business tasks, in recent years, the Group's Party Committee has directed the Group's Youth Union to identify one of the focuses of the group's activities and youth movements as being proactive in creative labor, implementing the Group's and its units' production and business tasks. On that basis, the Group's Youth Union regularly directs, orients, issues detailed instructions and decides to assign targets for implementing youth projects and tasks each year to the Youth Union's units.

Petroleum Youth Union cooperated with Bach Long Vi District Youth Union ( Hai Phong ) to organize a campaign to clean the sea.

The projects and tasks undertaken by the youth not only bring economic and social benefits, but many projects have also created funding for the Union's activities, while contributing to improving the working capacity of the Union's cadres, demonstrating the role and responsibility of the Oil and Gas youth, actively contributing to the production and business activities of the Group and its units.

Notably, the "Creative Youth" movement that the Group's Youth Union has launched and widely disseminated. From there, it encourages the Oil and Gas Youth Union members to promote initiatives, improve techniques, contribute ideas, master science and technology in the safe and effective operation of modern equipment, production management, saving management costs, saving supplies and materials, etc.

It can be mentioned that in the 2012 - 2017 term, the Group's Youth Union had 15 creative topics recognized by the Central Youth Union at the National Youth Creativity Festival, 80 topics were recognized at the Group's Youth Creativity Festival with a profit value of nearly 360 billion VND. During the 2017 - 2022 term, the Group's Youth Union had 1,372 youth projects at all levels recognized, of which the Central level had 04 projects (1 typical national project in 2018, 02 typical national "Following Uncle Ho's words" youth projects in 2019, 01 Vifotec award in 2020), 13 topics were commended at the National Youth Creativity Festival, the Central Enterprise Bloc Youth Union had 178 projects, the Group/based Youth Union had 389 projects and 1,039 grassroots levels were completed and recognized with a value of 1,136 billion VND and more than 34 million USD.

It can be affirmed that the remarkable achievements of the Petrovietnam Youth Union are due to the unified leadership and implementation, the thorough understanding of the Party's viewpoints on youth work, and the determination of the task of building a strong Youth Union as an important content in the Party building work at Petrovietnam. In other words, the Party Committee leaders of the Group always put their trust and hope in the young, both red and professional labor force.
