Kinhtedothi - On the morning of January 16, the Hanoi Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee held a meeting with former leaders of Hanoi through the periods, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2025.
Politburo member, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Head of the Hanoi National Assembly Delegation Bui Thi Minh Hoai; Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Committee Tran Sy Thanh; Standing Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Nguyen Van Phong; Deputy Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Hanoi People's Council Nguyen Ngoc Tuan and Member of the Standing Committee of the Hanoi Party Committee, Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee Nguyen Lan Huong chaired the meeting.
Hanoi achieved many impressive results
Sharing at the meeting, former Politburo member and former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Pham The Duyet expressed his joy at witnessing the development steps of the Capital. This is the basis to continue to create trust for the People and have new determination to believe that the Party's policies will certainly succeed.
According to comrade Pham The Duyet, with the position of the capital of the whole country, trusted by the Party and State, in the general atmosphere, determined to build the Party, the city's leaders have many things to handle and solve. In that situation, the capital is always stable, maintained and increasingly developed.
In the coming time, comrade Pham The Duyet hopes that Hanoi will continue to take full advantage of the leadership of the Central Committee and the contributions of ministries, branches and agencies in the area, thereby attracting and directing the common contributions of the whole country to Hanoi. This is considered a source of strength for Hanoi to successfully implement its development goals. At the same time, closely following the Central Committee's direction with an objective, calm attitude, not subjective, relying on science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation application. Doing this well will certainly lead to success.
Sharing joy and congratulating the comprehensive and impressive achievements of the Party Committee, government and people of the Capital in 2024, comrade Pham Quang Nghi - former member of the Politburo, former Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee expressed his excitement at the prospects of the country in general and the capital Hanoi in particular in 2025 with a clear direction and many opportunities for success. Hanoi will continue to move forward, together with the whole country, entering a new era, building the capital worthy of the country and meeting the expectations and trust of the people of the capital and the whole country.
Building a streamlined and efficient City political system
Speaking at the New Year's greetings to former leaders of Hanoi through the years, Secretary of the City Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai said that in 2024, the city has focused on strongly innovating the thinking, leadership methods and improving the fighting capacity of the Party organization and the quality of Party members. Along with that, effectively implementing inspection and supervision work; preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity. Hanoi is exemplary in innovating, arranging and perfecting the organization, apparatus and political system of the city to ensure streamlining, effective and efficient operation in accordance with the direction of the Central Committee.
Regarding the results of the city's socio-economic development in 2024, the Secretary of the City Party Committee said that Hanoi has basically completed the general socio-economic targets, with 23/24 targets completed and exceeded compared to the plan. Economic growth reached 6.52% (higher than in 2023) and major balances were ensured. State budget revenue exceeded 500,000 billion VND for the first time. International tourists to Hanoi increased by more than 35% compared to 2023.
There have been many positive changes in urban management and beautification; the fields of culture, education, health care and relic restoration have received special attention and investment; people's health care has been taken care of; people's lives have been improved and raised. Up to now, Hanoi has no poor households. In particular, the celebration and series of activities to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Liberation of the Capital were organized solemnly and successfully, demonstrating patriotism, national pride and love for the Capital. Thereby, creating a joyful, united and excited atmosphere among all classes of people.
Emphasizing that 2025 is a year of special importance, a year of acceleration and breakthrough to complete the targets and resolutions set by the Congresses at all levels, Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee Bui Thi Minh Hoai said that, in the spirit of thoroughly grasping the guiding viewpoints of the Party and General Secretary To Lam on "a new era - an era of national growth", Hanoi continues to affirm its special position and role in the cause of building and developing a rich and prosperous country. Therefore, in 2025 and the following years, Hanoi is determined to strongly innovate thinking, enhance the spirit of creativity, dare to think, dare to do so that the Capital can develop and be worthy of being the national political and administrative center, the heart of the whole country. Build the Capital to become a smart, modern, bright - green - clean - beautiful, secure and safe urban area. At the same time, develop rapidly, sustainably, and have spillover effects to promote the development of the Red River Delta, the Northern Key Economic Zone, and the whole country.
The Secretary of the City Party Committee also said that Hanoi continues to be an exemplary leader in restructuring the apparatus, building a streamlined political system that operates effectively and efficiently, and soon completes the work of consolidating, prosecuting, and restructuring grassroots party organizations in accordance with the direction of the Central Committee. Leading, directing, and organizing Party Congresses at all levels, the 18th City Party Congress successfully. At the same time, completing the goals and targets according to Resolution No. 15-NQ/TW, dated May 5, 2022 of the Politburo on "Orientations and tasks for the development of Hanoi Capital to 2030, with a vision to 2045". Effectively implementing the Capital Law 2024, the Capital Planning to 2030, with a vision to 2050; Adjusting the overall master plan for construction of the Capital until 2045, with a vision to 2065... towards building a civilized, modern and cultural Capital.
According to the Secretary of the Hanoi Party Committee, in 2025, Hanoi will also continue to drastically accelerate the implementation of key projects and works of the city, improve the investment and business environment, enhance competitiveness, and reduce costs for people and businesses. Continue to promote comprehensive and synchronous development in the fields of culture, education, and health. Actively transform digitally in agencies and units throughout the city. Improve the effectiveness of foreign affairs and international integration. Ensure national defense and security, local military work and social order and safety. Striving to be the leading locality in the country in digital transformation. "In the immediate future, all levels, branches, and units of the city are focusing on organizing activities during the Lunar New Year 2025, ensuring that people celebrate Tet happily, healthily, safely, and economically with the spirit that everyone, every family has Tet..." - said the Secretary of the City Party Committee
