Many people in Quang Ninh province feel satisfied when the local government has removed the long-damaged art light show system from three mountains on Ha Long Bay (in Ha Long ward).
The demolition was completed 2 weeks ago.
Mr. H. Hung, a resident of Ha Long ward, shared that the removal of the light system that had been damaged for nearly ten years had restored the natural beauty of the landscape to the World Heritage - Natural Wonder of Ha Long Bay.
The mountains of Ha Long Bay are no longer "dirty" by piles of rusty iron and steel, tightly crisscrossing the cliffs.
The art light show system on Ha Long Bay was invested in 2010, completed and put into use in 2011 and displayed during the Ha Long Carnaval 2012 with an investment of more than 140 billion VND.
Son Lam Tourism Limited Liability Company (Hanoi) is the project implementing unit.
The investment is large but the effectiveness of the laser projection system is not as expected. According to the design, the installation of the system on 3 coastal mountains on Ha Long Bay will allow to project images related to Quang Ninh province, Ha Long city (old) in general, and the beautiful scenery of Ha Long Bay in particular in the air.
This laser light system was only shown well a few times, the rest of its existence was only turned on with dim light on a few holidays and Tet without being able to project artistic images in the air as designed.
In recent years, the light system has been completely damaged, the iron has rusted, and occasionally a few broken lights have fallen into the bay.
After more than ten years of existence, many generations of local leaders but the project could not be finalized.
Up to now, although the project has been adjusted and the investment method has been changed, many retired officials in Quang Ninh believe that this is also a valuable lesson about ineffective investment that the local government needs to learn from to avoid waste./.
