Competition to build new-age women

The emulation movement "Building Vietnamese women in the new era" was launched by the Vietnam Women's Union (VWU) at the 13th National Women's Congress to build the image and qualities of Vietnamese women to meet the requirements of the new era with the following criteria: Having knowledge, morality, health and responsibility for themselves, family, society and country. In recent times, the VWU at all levels in the province has deployed to 100% of the grassroots level. Thereby continuing to affirm the position of women in all areas of social life.

Gradually asserting position

Over the years, Phu Tho women have continued to promote tradition, being proactive and creative in labor, work, study, fulfilling the role and vocation of women in family and society, making worthy contributions in all areas of social life.

Women of all walks of life have promoted their roles and responsibilities, actively participated in Party building and government building; implemented well the Party's guidelines, policies, resolutions, the State's policies and laws; and local political tasks. The proportion of female cadres participating in the Party Executive Committee of communes and wards for the 2025-2030 term reached 25%, further affirming the position of women in the new period. Women have also been proactive in advising on policy making, and have had many initiatives in carrying out the political tasks of agencies and units...

Accounting for over 48% of the province's workforce, women have affirmed their important position and role in promoting economic development such as actively participating in the province's economic development programs and projects, effectively implementing the policy of promoting the restructuring of the agricultural sector towards commodity production; focusing on prioritizing the development of key products with advantages, typical products, OCOP products associated with innovating the form of production organization towards strong development of farm economy, family farms, cooperatives; being proactive in cooperation, linking production and product consumption. Over the past 5 years, the province's industrial production has grown quite well, in which the overall achievement has been an important contribution of the team of female entrepreneurs, female workers and laborers.

At the same time, the women's force in the province has also promoted its role in preserving and maintaining the source of the nation's fine traditional cultural quintessence; actively participated in the movement to build a cultural life in residential areas... In the field of security and defense, women of all classes in the province have actively participated in activities to fight against the peaceful evolution plots of hostile forces; well performed their responsibilities and civic obligations, maintained social order and safety and the mass movement to protect national security; built a solid provincial defense zone; actively cared for and helped families of policy beneficiaries, people with meritorious services to the revolution, and did a good job of repaying gratitude and the army's rear...

According to comrade Nguyen Minh Quan - Standing Deputy Secretary of Tram Than Commune Party Committee: In the period of building and developing the country, women increasingly assert their important role and position in the family and society. In fact, there are many individuals and women groups that have achieved many achievements and noble awards in various fields of activity.

In the period of 2021 - 2025, the whole province has over 1,360 collectives and 2,800 individuals who have been commended and rewarded by the State, Central Ministries, branches, People's Committees at all levels, and Women's Unions at all levels. Successfully nominated 3 Vietnamese Women's Awards; 1 Nguyen Thi Dinh Award; 2 KOVA Awards. 782 individuals were awarded the "For the Development of Vietnamese Women" Medal by the Vietnam Women's Union. There are nearly 6,500 typical collectives and individuals of outstanding women in various fields, models or good practices that have been promoted and honored.

Cooperatives and cooperative groups owned by women have created jobs, increased income for workers, and contributed to promoting socio-economic development.

Support women's comprehensive development

Implementing the emulation movement "Building Vietnamese Women of the New Era", the Standing Committee of the Provincial Women's Union has concretized the implementation of the emulation movements "Building women of the Homeland who are friendly, kind, united, integrated, and developed", "Building women of the new era: Having ethics, knowledge, health, and responsibility for family and society"; at the same time, giving the Union at all levels the initiative to concretize the criteria to suit the actual conditions of women in the locality; linking the implementation of the emulation movement with studying and following the ideology, ethics, and style of Ho Chi Minh.

In addition, the Union at all levels has effectively implemented 3 special emulation campaigns, emulation to achieve achievements to welcome the success of the 13th National Party Congress; the peak emulation movement to successfully organize the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 term; special emulation campaigns to achieve achievements to celebrate the anniversaries of major national holidays, the 5th National Emulation Congress of the Vietnam Women's Union and the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Women's Union. Through the emulation campaigns, the Union at all levels has carried out nearly 600 practical and meaningful works and tasks that have been evaluated and recognized by the Party Committee and the government.

In particular, to enhance women's economic empowerment, support women in accessing the digital economy, production and business according to the value chain, the Provincial Women's Union has promoted and mobilized cadres, members and people to actively participate in the province's key economic development programs; Project 939 of the Government "Supporting women to start a business". In the period of 2021 - 2025, the programs and projects have supported capacity building for 504 women who are business owners, cooperative managers, and business owners; supported 2,713 women to start a business, start a business... At the same time, in coordination with the Central Union, the sectors organized over 1,000 training courses for more than 52,000 members on transferring scientific and technical advances; vocational training for 11,285 female workers; after vocational training, 9,845 people have jobs or create jobs for themselves; Maintain and effectively manage over 6,000 billion VND of entrusted loans for over 123,800 women members to borrow to develop family economy...

According to the President of the Provincial Women's Union, Nguyen Hong Nhung: Implementing the criteria of the emulation movement helps members and women confidently enter a new era. In the coming time, the Women's Union at all levels in the province will continue to promote propaganda and bring the content of the emulation movements to members and women in many forms, suitable to the needs of members and women. Mobilize women to practice moral qualities associated with promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style, forming a lifestyle with self-respect, autonomy, living and working according to the Constitution and laws, and protecting the environment. Along with that, proactively advise the Party Committee, coordinate with the government, and socio-political organizations to integrate the movement "Emulation to build Vietnamese women in the new era" with the emulation movements being implemented locally. Diversify forms of connection, accompany women by target, promote the role and capabilities of influential women in various fields and support specific groups of women; discover, encourage, honor, and replicate advanced models...

With the companionship and support of the Women's Union at all levels, each individual woman needs to proactively promote the spirit of striving to rise up, the aspiration to contribute talent and intelligence to further affirm the role of "the fair sex" as well as contribute to building the homeland to develop quickly, comprehensively, firmly and become increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized.
