
At 2:50 p.m. on October 18, Bach Long Vi Military-Civilian Medical Center received patient Do Thi Thom, 44 years old, from Ninh Binh province, who was working in Bach Long Vi special zone.
About a week ago, the patient felt a dull pain in the abdomen but did not seek any treatment. On October 18, the patient felt increased pain in the lower abdomen, bloating and went to Bach Long Vi Military and Civilian Medical Center for examination.
After examination, Bach Long Vi Military and Civilian Medical Center conducted a hospital-wide consultation and diagnosed the patient with a ruptured left ectopic pregnancy.
Immediately after, the doctors and nurses performed resuscitation on the patient and mobilized the blood bank. After checking, two doctors from the center had the same blood type and took two units of blood to transfuse into the patient during the surgery.
The case is considered complicated, dangerous, and has many potential risks during surgery.
The Board of Directors of Bach Long Vi Military-Civilian Medical Center reported to the Board of Directors of the Department of Health, leaders of Bach Long Vi special zone and held an online professional consultation with obstetricians and obstetricians of Kien An Hospital, ordering emergency surgery at the center.
The surgical team included doctors from Kien An Hospital on the island and doctors from the Military-Civilian Medical Center.
After about 1 hour, the surgery ended successfully, the patient was temporarily stable, and was transferred to the recovery room for monitoring and further treatment.
