Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman Nong Thi Ha chaired the working session with Viet Bac Highlands High School

Reporting to the Deputy Minister, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Committee Nong Thi Ha and the working delegation at the working session, teacher Luc Thuy Hang - Principal of Viet Bac Highlands High School said: Currently, the total number of cadres, teachers and staff of the school is 236 people. Of which, 158 are teachers, 78 are staff; 65 are ethnic minority cadres and teachers; in terms of training level, there are 121 Masters, 70 Bachelors. 100% of the teaching staff have standard and above standard training level, and have a lot of experience in educating and training students of the Ethnic Boarding High School system.

In recent times, the school has always been a pioneer in activities to help ethnic minority students realize "Intellectual equality for equality among ethnic groups"; affirming its role and position as a multi-system boarding school for ethnic minorities training and fostering talented, high-quality ethnic minority students, especially in improving foreign language and information technology skills, meeting the increasingly strong digital transformation requirements for the northern mountainous provinces in the current period.

In recent years, 100% of ethnic boarding students have passed the graduation exam, 100% of students have passed the entrance exam to Universities, Colleges and University Preparation Schools, many of whom have achieved university entrance scores of 27 points or higher. Every year, 15 to 20 students have won National Excellent Student Awards and Gold Medals in National and International Science and Technology Research Competitions. In the 2023-2024 school year, the school has 19 National Excellent Students (including 2 First Prizes), 2 scientific research projects in Korea have won Gold Medals.

The school focuses on improving the professional qualifications and political theory of staff, teachers and workers. In the 2023-2024 school year, 2 teachers will study for a Master's degree; 2 teachers will be sent to study advanced political theory. The school will send managers and teachers to participate in all training courses organized by the Ethnic Committee, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Provincial People's Committee and relevant departments, branches and sectors...

The school has done an excellent job of educating students in preserving and promoting national cultural identity and ethnic solidarity. It has done a good job of taking care of the lives of students, staff and teachers.

At the meeting, delegates from a number of departments also discussed and gave comments on education and training work, especially preparations for the 2024-2025 school year and the school's facilities.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister and Vice Head Nong Thi Ha acknowledged and highly appreciated the achievements of the School in recent times, and at the same time requested the School to continue promoting its tradition and maintain the title of the top ethnic school in Thai Nguyen province.

Regarding facilities and equipment, it is recommended that the School continue to coordinate with relevant functional units to review and re-evaluate the necessary lists to establish a project to invest in renovating, upgrading and repairing the infrastructure of Viet Bac Highlands High School according to the National Target Program 1719.

Receiving the comments of Deputy Minister, Vice Head Nong Thi Ha and members of the working delegation, teacher Luc Thuy Hang promised that the school will seriously implement and strive to achieve many outstanding results in the coming time.

Viet Bac Ethnic High School is located in Quyet Thang Commune, Thai Nguyen City, with an area of ​​59,924.8 m2. Currently, the school has nearly 3,000 students of 32 ethnic groups from 21 provinces studying at the school with 2 training systems: Boarding Ethnic High School and Ethnic University Preparatory.

The school was established in 1957, with the name of the Viet Bac Autonomous Region Children's School. The school was honored to welcome Uncle Ho to visit three times, and was awarded many noble titles and prizes by the Party and the State. In 2014, the school was awarded the title of Heroic Labor Collective.

Since its establishment, the school has trained more than 60,000 students from 32 ethnic minorities in 21 mountainous provinces from Quang Binh and up, including more than 600 students from very small ethnic minorities such as Ngai, Lu, Mang, Sila, Clao, La Chi, La Hu, Cong, Pu Peo, Bo Y... Many of them have become engineers, doctors, scientists, leaders and managers working at the central and local levels, contributing to the country's construction and protection of the country's remote border and island areas.
