Proactively respond and overcome damage
Faced with the complicated developments of floods, the People's Committee of Thai Nguyen province has continuously issued urgent dispatches, directing localities to implement the "four on-the-spot" policy, evacuating people from dangerous areas, controlling traffic through deep flooded areas, ensuring the safety of dams and irrigation works. Propaganda, warnings, and guidance on disaster response skills have also been strengthened.
Along with that, the police, army, militia, and youth union forces were mobilized to be on duty 24/7, closely coordinating with local authorities to evacuate people and property, and overcome the consequences. Many activities to support people were promptly deployed, such as helping to repair houses, clear traffic routes, contributing to minimizing damage and ensuring safety for people.
Immediately after the water receded, localities urgently reinforced landslide sites, handled potentially dangerous slopes, and instructed people to take care of flooded rice fields to limit damage. The government and relevant agencies also coordinated to provide emergency support with necessities and temporary housing for households that lost their homes, and to bring students back to school as soon as possible, ensuring that medical care, examination, and treatment were not interrupted.
The Provincial People's Committee has assigned the Department of Finance to coordinate with relevant sectors to review and propose timely support, prioritizing poor households and policy families.
