Prime Minister disciplines two former Vice Chairmen of Quang Ninh related to AIC case

Two decisions of the Prime Minister on disciplining two former Vice Chairmen of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province were signed and issued by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang on November 21.

Accordingly, in Decision No. 1443, the Prime Minister decided to discipline Mr. Dang Huy Hau by removing him from the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, due to violations and shortcomings in his work, and the Secretariat has disciplined him in terms of party discipline.

Decision No. 1444 clearly states the disciplinary action of removing Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy from the position of Vice Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province due to violations and shortcomings in her work and the Secretariat has taken disciplinary action against her.

Previously, the violations of these two former leaders were reviewed by the Politburo and Secretariat on October 5.

The Politburo and the Secretariat believe that the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term violated the Party's principles and regulations, and the Working Regulations; loosened leadership and direction, and lacked inspection and supervision, allowing the Provincial People's Council Party Delegation, the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee, the Provincial People's Committee and many affiliated Party organizations to violate the Party's regulations and the State's laws.

Violations by the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term have caused serious consequences. Many officials and party members under the management of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee have been disciplined, and some party members have been prosecuted, causing public outrage and reducing the prestige of the party organization.

The Politburo and Secretariat also concluded that Mr. Dang Huy Hau, former Standing Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Ninh province, and Ms. Vu Thi Thu Thuy, former Vice Chairman, violated the principle of democratic centralism, Party regulations, the Working Regulations of the Provincial Party Committee, the Party Executive Committee of the People's Committee, the Regulations on what Party members are not allowed to do and the responsibility to set an example.

These two former leaders signed many documents that violated Party regulations and State laws; lacked responsibility, lax leadership, direction, inspection and supervision, allowing many violations to occur in projects and bidding packages implemented by the International Progress Joint Stock Company (AIC) and FLC Group Joint Stock Company, causing great losses to the State budget.

This violation, according to the Politburo and Secretariat, caused very serious consequences, outraged public opinion, and negatively affected the reputation of the Party organization and local government.

The Politburo therefore decided to impose a disciplinary warning on the Standing Committee of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee for the 2015-2020 term.

The Secretariat also decided to take disciplinary action by removing Dang Huy Hau and Vu Thi Thu Thuy from all Party positions.
