The truth about the school rule that students do not call friends "husband, wife"

(Dan Tri) - The principal of Truc Thuan Secondary School (Truc Ninh - Nam Dinh ) affirmed that the school has a code of conduct for cultural conduct in school, but the wording in the code of conduct spread on social networks is incorrect.

Social networks are spreading information that Truc Thuan Secondary School, Truc Ninh District, Nam Dinh Province, has issued a rule that students do not call each other by words indicating marital relationships such as "wife, husband, husband, wife"; and do not call each other by movie or gangster terms (big brother, senior sister...).

Regarding this information, Mr. Dang Van Tam, Principal of Truc Thuan Secondary School, affirmed: "The school does have a code of conduct for cultural conduct in school and it will be implemented in the 2024-2025 school year.

However, the words that are spread on social networks such as students not calling each other "wife, husband, husband, wife..." are not in accordance with the school's regulations. In the regulations, we use words that are pedagogical in nature, not like what is being shared on social networks.

Mr. Tam shared that in article 18 of behavior with friends, chapter III, of the Code of Conduct for Cultural Conduct in Schools of Truc Thuan Secondary School, it clearly states.

Greet and address each other in a friendly, open, and honest manner; do not use offensive, rude, teasing, or provocative words or actions. Do not call or address each other with terms reserved for respectful people such as grandparents and parents.

Do not call your friend by his/her parents' names or by physical defects or personality traits. Visit and help your friend sincerely and tactfully, without concealing each other's shortcomings, and do not shun or look down on people who are sick, disabled, or in difficult circumstances.

When congratulating your friend, make sure to be cheerful, friendly, not fussy, not awkward. When conversing, chatting, and exchanging with your friend, make sure to be sincere, straightforward, open, and gentle, without arguing, criticizing, sneering, insulting, or swearing.

Know how to listen actively and give constructive feedback when discussing and debating. When there is a conflict, both sides should restrain themselves, calmly explain clearly, avoid misunderstandings, apologize and forgive each other. Relationships with the opposite sex must ensure respect, purity and appropriateness.

Mr. Tam added that since the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year, when the code of conduct was applied to all students at the school, the behavioral culture in the school has changed for the better compared to previous years.

The Code of Conduct for Cultural Conduct in Truc Thuan Secondary School consists of 3 chapters and 27 articles. This Code applies to the school's staff, teachers, employees and students.
