Accordingly, this hydropower plant has an installed capacity of 13 MW, when completed it will produce an average annual electricity output of 44,343 million kWh.

The investor of this hydropower plant is Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Joint Stock Company, located in An Dong Ward, Hue City; constructed by Thanh Dat Joint Stock Company (same An Dong Ward).

Together with A Lin B1, B2 hydropower plants from A Lin River (HA Luoi), Rao Trang 4 hydropower plant below, Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant forms a small capacity "cascade hydropower" system on the upper Bo River system. Between Rao Trang 3 and 4 hydropower plants is about more than 10 km.

On October 12, the Military Region 4 Command and the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province organized a 21-member delegation to inspect, survey, verify information and rescue after receiving reports from local people about the landslide at Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant.

On the evening of October 12, on the way to the scene, the working group took a break at Forest Protection Management Station 67. At 0:00 on October 13, a landslide occurred in the area where the group was taking a break. 8 people escaped from the landslide area, while 13 people died.

According to information received at 5:00 a.m. on October 13, a landslide at Rao Trang 3 Hydropower Plant left 17 workers missing.

The Military Region 4 Command and the People's Committee of Thua Thien - Hue province have established a forward command post at the headquarters of the People's Committee of Phong Xuan commune to command the search and rescue, and mobilize all forces, vehicles, motorboats, and medical forces to search and rescue those missing and trapped after the Rao Trang 3 hydropower plant incident.
