However, while the whole country is joining forces to support our compatriots in the disaster area, on social networks, hostile forces and political opportunists are taking advantage of the situation to create another "storm" in order to disrupt information, divide the great national unity bloc, and cause people to lose confidence in the Party and State, especially on the eve of the 14th National Party Congress.
Another trick of taking advantage of natural disasters to distort
Over the past 2.5 months, Vietnam has had to deal with consecutive storms, especially storms No. 10 and No. 11, which caused historic floods, serious damage to people and property, and impacted economic growth and people's lives. Taking advantage of this situation, hostile forces and political opportunists repeated their old tricks by releasing toxic information, aiming to cause panic and loss of trust among the people, like the scenarios seen in the Covid-19 pandemic or super typhoon Yagi...
Focusing on the losses and pain caused by storms and floods, the distorted arguments say that people in flood-affected areas are not cared for or supported. But immediately, in recent days, the people of the whole country have had a strong answer when the list of organizations and individuals supporting people affected by natural disasters is getting longer and longer, trucks carrying goods and necessities still overcome many difficulties to gather love from all over the country to flood-affected areas and words of encouragement, care and sharing sent to people are still full on social networks. Without trust, without solidarity, without compatriotism, there cannot be such noble acts. And the more difficult and arduous the times, the more compatriotism is fostered, the more steadfast the trust in the Party and the State is, no force can divide or destroy it.
Under the leadership of the Party, with the efforts of the entire political system, the participation of ministries, branches, agencies, forces, localities and the people, we have done our best to respond promptly and effectively, contributing to reducing damage caused by natural disasters. The Government and the Prime Minister have issued documents, directly directed ministries, branches and localities to mobilize all resources, apply solutions to prevent, combat and quickly overcome the consequences of natural disasters; soon restore work, production, study activities and stabilize people's lives.
In particular, resources have been urgently deployed to help localities overcome the consequences of floods. This includes Decision No. 2171/QD-TTg dated October 2, 2025 of the Prime Minister providing support from the central budget reserve in 2025 for a number of localities to overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 and other natural disasters from the beginning of 2025. Specifically, VND 2,524 billion from the central budget reserve in 2025 will be provided to 15 localities to support people's lives, repair dikes, irrigation reservoirs, natural disaster prevention works, essential infrastructure, and stabilize residents in urgent disaster areas affected by storm No. 10 and other natural disasters from the beginning of 2025.
Not only grasping the situation and giving timely, decisive, and realistic instructions, Party and State leaders have directly inspected the situation, visited people's lives, checked and encouraged forces on duty to respond to floods, rescue, overcome the consequences of natural disasters, and provide necessities to people.
Storms and floods pass, but human love remains
Along with State resources, promoting the good tradition and culture of "helping each other", other resources continue to be mobilized to share the difficulties of people in flood-hit areas. In recent days, the Department of Administrative Management of Social Order, Dong Nai Provincial Police has organized donations and transported about 30 tons of goods and necessities to support the northern provinces that suffered heavy damage due to storms and floods. After about a week since its launch, the donation movement has spread strongly, attracting a large number of people to participate and directly bring goods to support.
Although false information and fake news related to storms and floods are continuously released to incite people and divide the great national unity, these isolated and toxic voices cannot create a "storm" on social networks, because the more difficult and lost the time, the more the national love and solidarity shines.
During the flag-raising ceremony on October 13, staff, teachers and students of Le Van Tam Primary School (Tran Bien Ward, Dong Nai Province) joined hands to support people in flood-hit areas. Here, some students brought piggy banks to give to people and friends in the North.
According to Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Nga, the school's Team Leader, before launching the campaign to support people in flood-affected areas, the school organized for students to view real photos of the storm and flood situation, the damage that people in provinces and cities had to go through, including children of the same age as them. Along with that were images of police officers, soldiers, etc. supporting rescue and helping people overcome the consequences of floods. Through those real and vivid images, the spirit of "mutual love" and the awareness of joining hands for the community was aroused, so that students could better understand and join hands to support with sharing and empathy.
Recently, the Trade Union of Grand Gain Footwear Manufacturing Company Limited (in Dong Xoai Ward, Dong Nai Province) donated more than 110 million VND through the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Nai Province. Ms. Thai Thi Huyen, Chairwoman of the Company's Trade Union, said: Through the media, knowing about the huge damage caused by storms and floods to people in some provinces and cities, the Company's Trade Union launched a campaign to support and received enthusiastic responses from many union members and employees in the company. Each contribution from employees not only has material value but also adds spiritual motivation, hoping that people in affected areas will soon overcome difficulties and return to normal life.
Joining hands with the whole country, Dong Nai province has been reaching out to the people of provinces and cities affected by storms and floods with practical and meaningful sharing actions. This shows that people across the country are always ready to share and support each other, especially in times of difficulty and adversity, further affirming the solidity of the great national unity bloc; reflecting the trust and social consensus in the policies of the Party, State and Vietnam Fatherland Front.
