The fight against small unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) is extremely complex because their radiation levels are very low.

Today, micro-UAVs are not only a threat to war zones, but they are also potential devices to carry homemade bombs to carry out terrorist acts. In principle, the authorities could issue a ban on the use of mini-UAVs in the city, but there is no guarantee that this would be an effective measure.

To protect structures from possible attacks, experts from the Russian Ruselectronics corporation have developed an electronic warfare system that can neutralize small UAVs. These small electronic warfare systems are well suited to countering micro UAVs.

“One of the smallest targets we can detect is a 16x20cm UAV at a distance of 500m while moving and at a distance of 250m while hovering, even in urban conditions,” said Andrei Komogortsev, general director of the Rybinsky Instrument Manufacturing Plant.

These small UAVs are at high risk of being used in terrorist activities due to their low cost and simple operation. In addition, these UAVs can also be used to monitor and track people and many other targets, or can also be used to transport contraband. In fact, there have been recorded cases of using small UAVs to transport contraband into rehabilitation centers.

In addition, designers from Russia's Ruselectronics group are also developing a portable radar station. This is a very timely response to the increasing threat of Ukrainian suicide boat attacks on Russia's Black Sea Fleet.

The small radar station can detect targets at a distance of over 6km. The radar station weighs 25kg, has its own power source, can be carried in a backpack and deployed in areas with high risk of attack.

“The small radar station can detect civilian boats measuring about 3 meters at a distance of 6 kilometers, while the Ukrainian suicide boats are 5.5 meters in size,” said a Ruselectronics expert.

It can be seen that the new electronic warfare complex and small radar station are reliable "umbrellas", contributing to effectively protecting strategic targets and Russian naval bases from enemy attacks.
